LAWLER AS GM, AMERICAN ALPHA REUNION, GETTING OVER BY LOSING AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2018-05-18 10:00:00

With Chad Gable moving to Raw via the Superstar shake up and Jason Jordan already there, once Jordan returns from injury any possibility for an American Alpha reunion on the horizon?

WWE already featured a scene where Kurt Angle told Gable he had been brought to Raw not to reform American Alpha but to stand on his own, but given how often WWE changes their mind on creative matters, it’s impossible to predict whether that will stick.

It might not make business sense because of the man power involved but I've noticed that New Japan has started making every match a separate thing for their events.  Their interface is a mess but they're getting better.  The question is, if WWE were to do that, would their consistent subscribers care?  If erks me that they haven't addressed numerous issues that were there since day one.  Is it too much to ask for a searchable match function?

If WWE improved their interface, certainly the audience would care.   One would think at some point, WWE will roll out a stronger search function for specific matches.

I would like your opinion on something. Who do you think is the wrestler that got the most over from a match in which they lost? The obvious ones are Mick Foley KOTR 1998 and Steve Austin WM 13. Any others that you think have them beat?

I think Steve Austin is the ultimate example of that, but we’ve seen lots of instances where Terry Funk, Tommy Dreamer and others were able to build themselves into meaning more because they lost.

Why wasn't Jerry "The King" Lawyer ever considered to be a Raw GM or Smackdown?   I thought he would have made a good GM and the segments would have been great!

That would make a lot of sense given how excellent Lawler has been at promos over the course of his career. My guess is that WWE just sees him as a TV announcer and never considered him before while now, they wouldn’t want him to be on the road full-time at his age.

Where has Alberto el Patron disappeared to?

After being terminated by Impact, he’s worked a few independent dates and became a naturalized citizen, but other than that, he’s been keeping a low profile.
