It's the first night of back to back tapings. Here are the results of night one!
As always, matches may end up being dark matches and there's always a chance things will air out of the order they are taped.
Dark Match: Lio Rush def. Marcel Barthel. Rush will face Adam Cole for the North American Championship at tomorrow's tapings.
(Note: It's unclear when or if this will make air)
Week 1
-Johnny Gargano's music hits, but Tomasso Ciampa comes out instead. He says Johnny won the Battle, but Ciampa won the war and that's why Johnny is home in a neck brace. Candice LeRae comes out. She asks who Tomasso is and why he's become like this. Candice calls him a monster she will never forgive. Tomasso wonders why Johnny sent his wife to do his business and wonders how she ever married someone like Johnny. Candice slaps him as they both walk away
- Lacey Evans def. Brandi Lauren
Post match: Kairi Sane attacks Lacey Evans.
- Ricochet vs. Velveteen Dream ends in a no contest when Lars Sullivan comes in and attacks both men.
- Kona Reeves def. Raul Mendoza
- Pete Dunne, Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch def. Undisputed Era
Week 2
- TM61 def. Heavy Machinery
- Lacey Evans def. Kairi Sane
- Johnny Gargano (wearing a neck brace) and Candice LeRae (not wearing a neck brace) come out together. Johnny says his body reminds him of all the punishment Ciampa gave him. He sat down with Candice and discussed his future. He asks if it's all worth it. He rips off his neck brace and says it is. He calls out Ciampa while LeRae pleads with him not to. Ciampa comes out promising to end Gargano. LeRae runs to the back to get help. Referees arrive to stop Gargano. Johnny and Candice slowly leave, but Ciampa taunts Johnny. Gargano storms back to the ring, but an elbow from Ciampa knocks Gargano off the apron and into LeRae. Candice LeRae is attended to by the medics and slowly helped to the back.
- Vanessa Borne def. Stephanie Newell
- Dakota Kai is getting a title match next week. She said it has to be against Shayna Baszler, who she let get in her head. Shayna further taunts Dakota.
- Handicap match: Lars Sullivan def. Ricochet and Velveteen Dream when Dream turns on Ricochet at the end of the match.
Week 3
- Kassius Ohno def. Chad Lail
- War Raiders def. Scott Dickson and Cody Vincent (???)
- EC3 def. Fabian Aichner. During the match, Johnny Gargano comes out, marches right by EC3, and announces he has a match with Thomasso Ciampa at Takeover: Chicago in a Street Fight.
- Kairi Sane def. Lacey Evans
- Aleister Black is out. He says life has been a trip since he became NXT Champion. He says there's been some dispute over his next challenger. He says it doesn't matter since he only needs one shot to make them fade to Black. Lars Sullivan comes out and says there is no dispute. William Regal made a title match between the two official for Takeover. Lars says he'll take everything Black has worked for his entire life because Black has never faced anyone like him. Lars lays Black out and poses with the title.
- NXT Women's Championship: Shayna Baszler (c) def. Dakota Kai
Post match: Baszler goes back to choke out Dakota, but Nikki Cross makes the save. Nikki steals the title and goads Shayna to get back in the ring. Nikki wants to fight Shayna right now, for the title, with Dakota as the ref. Nikki attacks Shayna and lays her out while Dakota makes the count. (note: this wasn't an official match). Nikki grabs the title and celebrates in the crowd. It's unclear what will air and what, if anything, was just a way to send the crowd home happy.
