WHO SHOULD BEAT BROCK, DEFENDING KEEPING THE TITLE ON BROCK, GETTING REAL ABOUT SAUDI ARABIA AND MORE

Who do you think should be the one who beats Brock Lenser for the Universal Championship?

At this point, the most obvious guy would be Braun Strowman.  They have largely scorched Roman Reigns with their bad booking of him so if he wins the Title now, it won’t work.  They have Lex Luger’d him too many times so he needs to leave the Title picture, which is a shame since all he has done is work hard and have good matches.  But as I said in my blog on Sunday, I also would love to see Seth Rollins do it.

We all know your thoughts on why Lesnar the part-timer should not still be the Universal champion so let's look at it from Vince McMahon's point of view.  If you were in Vince's shoes and had to defend your choice to keep the belt on Lesnar for so long, while having your top full-time guys constantly lose to him, what positive reasons would you come up with to justify your booking?

The only two things I can think of are:

1) He’s a tough guy and Vince loves having the Title on a tough guy.

2) Whoever finally beats him and rescues the Title from Witness Protection can get a rub.

WWE has been playing up Titus O'Neill's fall at the Greatest Royal Rumble on social media.  Do you think they should incorporate it into his on-screen persona, essentially playing him up as a modern day Shockmaster?  Would Titus be able to make this type of comedy character work?

I think they should and I think it would be good for Titus.  Right now, he has been largely a rudderless ship.  This would give him a role.  I think he can do comedy and at 41 years old it’s not a bad place for him to be at all.  Comedy always has a spot on a Vince show.

First off I thought the show was way to long and wasn't that entertaining.  Secondly, it amuses me, kind of like the Roman thing that you talk about.  People get so bent out of shape about what the WWE does.  The Roman push, the Cena push, running in Saudi Arabia on the network...  If you are so upset with the company, stop watching.  Drop the network, there are plenty of alternative streaming services out there now, join one of them.  WWE is a publicly traded company now, they are in the business of making money for their investors.  Hey if Saudi Arabia tossed a few hundred million at me I would go on national TV and call them the most progressive thinking country in the middle east too.  Hell I would do it for ten million.  For 500 million I would go on national TV and declare dual citizenship.  It’s pro wrestling for God sake not the United Nations.  I don't see Sami or any of the women on the roster quitting out of protest.

I couldn’t agree with you more.  I get the flip side, that there are aspects of WWE that they like.  And that’s cool.  But at the end of the day, it’s the product that they want to deliver and that’s the way it will stay.  To expect otherwise is a fool’s errand.  Getting bent out of shape for things like that just makes no sense to me.

I want to talk about the women's revolution. I've really enjoyed seeing the women getting the respect they deserve. As a father of 3 girls, it's great for them to watch and cheer them on. However I feel like The WWE doing business with a country like Saudi Arabia where women are not treated fairly and have no rights is very hypocritical. There are many countries they could have held The Greatest Royal Rumble where the women could have taken part and share the experience with their male counter parts. I know the WWE made a lot of money with this and financially I get it but when you are trying to show that women can do the same things as men yet do business with a country that believe the opposite, it's just selling out on those beliefs. Thoughts?

I covered why it’s not at all hypocritical of WWE in a column last week.  You can read it by clicking here.  As for their being “many” places they could have run it, there aren’t.  There was one offering a huge amount of money and WWE took them up on their offer.
