WWE SELLING THE WCW ASSETS FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO REBOOT, WHAT IF WCW HAD LIVED, NO BRONZE STATUE THIS YEAR AT WRESTLEMANIA AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2018-05-03 10:00:00

With the huge wave of nostalgia that has happen the last couple of years with old t.v. shows relaunching like MAGNUM P.I., WILL & GRACE, MURPHY BROWN and ROSEANNE, now NICKELODEON relaunching DOUBLE DARE. NINTENDO relaunching old classic systems for a new generation and yes even Court Bauer relaunching MAJOR LEAGUE WRESTLING ( MLW ) recently and Billy Corgan trying to relaunch the NATIONAL WRESTLING ALLIANCE ( NWA ), just say for imagination purposes somebody was actually able to get and / or acquire the asset and trademarks of WCW from up under the ownership of Titan Towers, do you see a marketplace for a relaunch of the WCW brand under another owner that is not WWE? I know that my question make get laugh at but I've talk to some pro wrestling fans and they say they would support a relaunch of WCW even in just a smaller incarnation, I'm a huge WCW fan I was born in 84 so I grew up on TBS and WCW and we fans obviously miss those 3 letters in the pro wrestling world today. Do you all believe there is still some millage in the WCW brand? We all know WWE is the King of The Mountain ( no pun intended ) and no matter what will probably never ever be dethroned ever again like they was in 90's by WCW but do you all see just a small piece of the pie in the pro wrestling marketplace for a WCW relaunch? What are your thoughts and opinions on a relaunch WCW brand of it was to ever happen

I think that if someone came along and wanted to spent the money to and build a WCW-esque promotion that could offer money comparable to WWE to big name talents, there would be an audience interested in watching it, especially if it was on a legitimate cable outlet that was going to partner and promote the company, but WWE is never, ever, ever, ever, ever giving up the assets.  There will never be a WCW relaunch using those letters.  You have a better chance of Vince McMahon riding the Loch Ness Monster to my house to ask me to be the new The Big Show in the main event of Summerslam than you do WWE ever selling off those assets.

I believe I heard in 1 of Billy Corgan interviews he did after his settlement with Anthem or I may have read it somewhere, I honestly don't remember exactly but I believe he said that if he own TNA IMPACT WRESTLING he had plan on turning the show XPLOSION into TNA version of NXT brand, can you all elaborate on this if this is true?

I don't recall Corgan ever saying it, but if he was acknowledging Xplosion needs to be rebooted, he wasn't wrong.

Concerning Eric Bischoff, there have been many shoot interviews and podcast in the past detailing the history of WCW, the past history of WCW has been beaten into the ground and has been beaten to death but nobody has done a podcast or a shoot interview with Eazy E on a post 2001 Fusient Media Ventures / Eric Bischoff ownership of WCW, am I the only the fan that would love to hear from Eazy E himself on his post 2001 plans for WCW had him and Fusient Media Ventures actually acquired WCW? I know I can't be the only fan that would love to hear him go into detail about plans and hopes for a post 2001 WCW. I'm a huge WCW fan but I'm sick of hearing about the past, I would like to hear what the future was going to be for WCW?

Well, I think you are in luck as Eric Bischoff launched a new podcast with Conrad Thompson and I am sure that they will get to that topic at some point.  I know the plan was to relocate the company to Las Vegas at the time and that he had talks with Joey Styles and Don Callis about coming in to be the new announce team.  There was also talk about having a completely separate booker just for the Cruiserweights and keeping them separate from the Heavyweights when it came to stories as well.

I noticed this year  that WWE never released a Bronze Statue at WrestleMania like the past 5 years. Was there a reason for this or was the statue going to be The Great Moolah?

My gut is you may be correct, but my gut is also that we'll never ever know on record from WWE if that was actually the case.  It was odd that there was no statue and given the backlash to the branding to the women's battle royal with Moolah's name initially, it makes sense that the company might have initially planned to honor her and then backed off on those plans.

Okay, Alicia Fox has been out action since ROYAL RUMBLE & the rumble was 13 weeks ago . A broken tailbone takes 12 weeks to heal . So Alicia should’ve been cleared a week ago but foxy posted online she was good and healthy except for the broken ass bone .. So does she require surgery or something?

Every injury is different.  It's not you break your arm and a countdown clock alarm goes off in six weeks and says, OK, you are perfect.  It may be she's having issues.  It may be WWE didn't clear her yet.  It may be she's cleared but needs to train to get back in ring shape.  It may be WWE doesn't have a storyline return for her yet.  Patience.
