CHARLOTTE VS. RONDA HEADLINING WRESTLEMANIA, JERICHO'S FUTURE, PAIGE AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2018-04-28 10:00:00

Enjoyed seeing Chris Jericho at the Greatest Royal Rumble tonight. However, I want to ask you, what is the next step for him in pro wrestling? Will he still have a part with NJPW or is he gonna remain with WWE? Because right after Wrestle Kingdom this year, Jericho attacked Naito at the New Year's Dash show at Korakuen Hall and I was so looking forward to that potential program for the summer? What do you guys know?

Jericho has stated several times that he was done with New Japan and that things didn't work out the way he had hoped they would, but he hasn't elaborated past that.  My guess is he will do WWE from time to time and concentrate on outside projects, unless WWE gives him a great offer to come back full-time.

Can you see Charlotte vs Ronda Rousey next year being the first women’s match to close a Wrestlemania?

I actually can.   I think that's the best case scenario in terms of having a match that WWE could promote out to the mainstream media as a huge attraction.  Whether it happens or not, time will tell.

I was just reading the question asked about Kiss/Kiss Demon in WCW and had a question regarding Kiss and wrestling.I seem to recall CMLl (?)using the Kiss gimmick for a group there in the very late '80's-early '90's.Coulld you tell me if Kiss knew about this, did CMLL have to get permission from the band to use the gimmick,or was it done the same way as seeing a WWE copyrighted charachter such as Doink the clown on a small indie show. Also did WCW use the gimmick first,or was it first used in Mexico?

What CMLL did in that case was not anything that Kiss knew about at the time or gave permission to the company to do.   It was not uncommon for gimmicks like that to pop up in foreign countries, especially before the Internet made it far easier for copyright holders to know about such things almost immediately.  To the best of my knowledge, WCW did the Kiss Demon first.

Michael Cole constantly referred to Nakamura as "Shin."  I noticed Cole was the only announcer to refer to him as that.  We all know of McMahon's tendency to like to shorten names, so is this a situation where Vince wants him to be referred to more often as just "Shin," or was this something Cole came up with on his own and went with it?

My guess is that it's something Cole has chosen to do to have a shorter way to refer to Nakamura, nothing more.  If it was a Vince McMahon edict, all the announcers would be dropping the name.

What does the Paige movie being pushed back mean for Paige?

It means the company has more time to have her promoting the film and working as Smackdown GM, nothing more.  The film was pushed back in order to position it to make the most money, nothing more.
