With the emphasis on the women's revolution, doesn't it seem a little contradictory for WWE to do business with a country like Saudi Arabia that has limited rights for women?
Mike and I talked about this a lot on Wednesday’s show. In a word, no it’s not contradictory. WWE is an American corporation, whose objective it to maximize profits, not go to foreign countries and set social policy. Saudi Arabia is not America. When an American company goes there, they need to follow the rules and mores of the country. If they choose to not go there, fine, but this show is going to be extremely profitable so if they put their shareholders first, I can’t condemn them for that.
So there is a slight chance Hulk could come back... My question, do you have Hulk address the elephant in the room and apologize for letting people down, or do you just bring him back and pretend he was on vacation?
The statement that WWE gave Mike certainly indicated that if/when he comes back, the incident will be address. I think it needs to be.
Friend of mine used to be a police officer, in his mind, assaulting a US Marshall while in the process of doing their duty is 4-6 years in prison. Roman "assaulted" 3 of "them". Roman should be in a federal prison right now.
Except he didn’t. He attacked wrestlers playing US Marshals on a TV show that is geared to kids and teenagers.
Was that a Vince call, trying to get more crowd support for Roman? I thought it is supposed to be kid friendly? If you don't want to be arrested kids, beat up the cops. I feel bad for Roman, a large portion of that crowd was cheering it. You hear them say "you deserve it"?
Vince OK’d it. He thought that having Roman handcuffed and having Brock Lesnar only appear after he was bound would get sympathy. It did from many, but obviously the fans that hate him did the chant that you mention.
How many of the fans that chanted that Roman deserved the beat down after hitting the cops on Raw cheered for Steve Austin when he did the exact same thing in WWE?
I don’t have an exact number but your point is a good one and well taken. I think it's fair to say a good percentage of them.
