FIRST-EVER FABULOUS MOOLAH MEMORIAL BATTLE ROYAL ANNOUNCED

By Mike Johnson on 2018-03-12 21:46:00

WWE announced on Raw that Wrestlemania 34 would host the first-ever Fabulous Moolah Memorial Battle Royal, meant to pay tribute to the former WWF Women's champion, who passed away in November 2007.

Real name Lillian Ellison, Moolah was a four-time Women's champion for the company and was heavily involved in the first Wrestlemania, managing Leilani Kai against Cyndi Lauper's charge of Wendi Richter.  For decades, she trained and controlled the majority of women's professional wrestling.   She was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 1995.

During the video presentation, it was stated that female wrestlers from all brands were eligible, which could potentially mean Wrestlemania debuts for a number of WWE NXT performers.

WWE has held an Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at Wrestlemania since 2014.
