MLW TAPING TELEVISION TONIGHT

By Mike Johnson on 2018-03-08 20:11:00

Court Bauer's Major League Wrestling's return to Orlando, Florida tonight is doubling as not only the promotion's latest event but also a TV taping.  We are told that a deal is done to air a MLW TV series, but we have not confirmed what the broadcast outlet will be.

The MLW series will be 60 minutes weekly and hosted by Tony Schiavone and former WWE announcer Rich Bocchini, so this puts Schiavone back on TV for professional wrestling for the first time since WCW Monday Nitro ended in March 2001.

The promotion has brought in former World Class, WCW and Ring of Honor Director Dan Bynum for the taping.   Former ECW Producer and camereman Charlie Bruzzese is also working the taping.

It has also hired Bruce Prichard as Senior Producer and Agent.  Low Ki, MVP and Jimmy Havoc are also working as agents on the taping.

MLW filed a trademark on the name "Battle Riot" on 2/9, but we are told that is not the name of the series.  The promotion interestingly filed a trademark on the term "War Games" on 2/9, citing their usage of the name from when they utilized it in 2004 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

We'll have more on this as it develops.
