PRE-SHOW NOTES:

Ring announcer Bobby Cruise has signed a new two year deal with the company.

The company has new shirts on sale for Tenille Dashwood, Dalton Castle, The Young Bucks and a new ROH logo shirt.

There will be one Future of Honor match tonight as well as several special Q&A Sessions before the official show begins.

ROH Manhattan Mayhem opened with ROH Enforcer Bully Ray coming to the ring.   He asked the crowd how they were doing tonight and welcomed them to the show.    He put up over the talent and the product, which started a “ROH” chant.

Bully said that fans voted on the stipulations and guests they wanted to see and promised ROH was going to give them exactly what they paid to see.  He asked the fans to get on their feet and sparked a “ROH” chant.

The Dawgs vs.  Coast 2 Coast vs.  The Briscoes

Of the three teams, The Briscoes received the biggest response coming to the ring.

The Briscoes attacked the other teams as streamers were still flying in the ring, which was a cool visual live.  The crowd immediately chanted “Man Up.”   Jay was working over Shaheem but caught Will Ferarra talking trash and pulled him into the ring.  They worked over Will.  Rhett Titus attempted to step to them in the ring, but they laid him out with a series of fists and dumped him.

The Briscoes tagged in and out, working over Shaheem in the ring.  LSG tried to make a tag but was stopped.   The Dawgs tagged in and LSG finally tagged in.  They nailed some double team maneuvers on Ferrara.  The Briscoes returned but Mark was nailed into the corner by Titus.  Coast to Coast hit double missile dropkicks into the corner on Mark for a two count.

The Briscoes soon took control and scored the pin.

 Your winners, The Briscoes!

Good, athletic opening match.

The Briscoes took the mics and ripped on NYC, saying they didn’t need the cheers.  They declared this was their house and said the fans can go to hell.  They promised to win the ROH Tag Team championships for the ninth time at the Anniversary PPV this Friday in Las Vegas.

Tenille Dashwood & Deonna Purrazzo vs. Sumie Sakai & Jenny Rose.

Nice reaction for Dashwood, including streamers.

Rose and Purrazzo started off and went back and forth, scoring several near falls before facing off.  Nice round of applause from the crowd.  Sakai tagged in but wanted Dashwood, so the former Emma obliged.   Sakai nailed several forearms but ate a clothesline from Dashwood.  Dashwood nailed a splash into the buckles.

Rose tagged in but Dashwood and Purrazzo caught her and Sakai with stereo armbar attempts.  Dashwood continued to work over Sakai’s arm.  Rose and Purrazzo tagged in.  Purrazzo nailed a nice back suplex out of an attempted wheelbarrow takedown.

Purrazzo nailed another suplex for a two count.   Rose gained control and sent her into the buckles, then tagged in Sakai.   Sakai worked over Purrazzo, then nailed Dashwood off the apron.   Sakai went to the top and went for a bodypress but was caught.

The battle went back and forth until Purrazzo and Dashwood scored the pin.

Punishment Martinez vs. CMLL star Soberano Jr.

Martinez didn’t want to shake hands.  No big surprise.   Soberano went for a moonsault off the apron but he missed Martinez, which the crown gave him crap for.  Martinez slammed him into the barricade at ringside.  He brought Soberano back to the ring and nailed a running forearm in the corner.  Soberano went for a flipping move, but Martinez just brushed him off.

Martinez was sent out of the ring but got caught up in the ropes.  The crowd is all over them for miscommunications.  Soberano nailed a pair of dives over the ropes, the second of which got a nice reaction.  Soberano escaped a powerbomb attempt and scored a two count with a sunset flip attempt.

Soberano nailed a kick on the apron but was caught and chokeslammed into the ring and pinned.

Your winner, Punishment Martinez!

There was a styles clash here for sure.  Very underwhelming.

Martinez powerbombed him on the edge of the apron after.  Crowd was far more into Martinez by the end of this.

Ian Riccaboni came to the stage and said he was going to ask questions from the crowd for Jonathan Gresham.   They noted Gresham was injured.  A young fan asked him what it was like to be in ROH.  He said it was a special feeling as it was something he’s wanted for years.  Gresham was asked how long he was wrestling and he said 13 years.   Gresham said he’s been medically cleared to wrestle.  He was asked what he hoped to accomplish in 2018 in ROH.  Gresham said he wanted a rematch with Jay Lethal and he was going to prove he was the best wrestler in the world.
