THE GREATNESS OF ALEXA BLISS, STROWMAN AT MANIA, NEW JAPAN DOING THE RIGHT THING AND MORE

I was watching the “Elimination Chamber” PPV and was struck by just how freaking good Alexa Bliss has become. I know the plan is to feed her to Asuka at Wrestlemania, but Bliss has become a real star -- it’s possible she’s the one of the best overall performers (in-ring and interview) on the RAW roster right now. So I started wondering, do you think she could turn the crowd at Wrestlemania? All the ingredients are there –

- A charismatic heel who is a spectacular worker in the ring and great at interviews
- A babyface with a long winning streak, one that has gone on long enough to start to feel tiresome

Honestly, if WM were being held in a Northeast city – Philly, Boston, New York – I’d say it was almost a sure thing. But not sure about the New Orleans crowd. What do you think? Do you think I’m onto something, or am I nuts?

She turned the crowd in Las Vegas!  She turned heel on them and they still cheered her like there was no tomorrow.  It’s funny, right before they called her up I said on audio that she was ready and she should be on the main roster.  I got a lot of feedback that I was nuts.  Then they called her up, and I was proven correct.  Alexa is awesome, she is the total package of work, character, timing and “gets it”.  Plus, outside of the ring, she is awesome as well.  She was all over the media here in Las Vegas last week and represented the company extremely well.  It it’s me booking, I have her retain the Title and end Asuka’s streak at Mania.  It can be the start of a great feud where Asuka gets her Title reign down the road.

Let’s assume for a second that Brock vs. Roman is going to be 1-on-1 at WrestleMania. What do you do with Braun Strowman?

To me, it doesn’t matter who Braun wrestles.  What I make sure I do is after Roman wins that belt, Braun comes out and destroys him, setting up their feud.

The Strong Style Evolved event at the Walter Pyramid in Long Beach that will take place in March sold out within only 20 minutes after tickets were released. Do you think NJPW is leaving money on the table by not booking in a larger venue in Greater Los Angeles? Or do you believe they're taking the right direction by searching the waters and taking baby steps before they make that huge dive? Personally, I would LOVE to see NJPW have a show in the Staples Center or the Honda Center.

I think they did the right thing.  Create demand in the market and make sure you can sell out.  They did that.  Now, they can move to a bigger building next time if they want.  It’s better to sell out 4,500 seats than to have 6,000 in a 20,000 seat venue.  They are still in the infancy of running here.  I like the baby steps approach.

We all know Vince has the final say, but who are the people responsible for the actual booking and format of the men's and women's Royal Rumble matches?  In other words, who is responsible for determining the order of competitors, who eliminates who, and when the eliminations occur?

The creative teams make their pitches and Vince then decides what they will do.

After giving us the tease of AJ vs. Nakamura at Wrestlemania, how much backlash would there be if McMahon decided to pull Nakamura from that planned match in favour of well...anyone else?  Do you see the live fans at Wrestlemania trashing the new match as much or even more than they did for Brock vs. Goldberg at WM20?

It would all depend on who they pulled Nakamura for how much damage it would do.  If it were a hardcore fan favorite, it would lessen the blow.  But I do think it would be a huge mistake to change the match.  If Roman is going to beat Brock, give the hardcore fans their dream match.  Be smart WWE!
