UNIVERSAL LANDS THE ROCK'S 'RED NOTICE'

By Paul Jordan on 2018-02-09 15:37:00

In an update on the Dwayne Johnson action film Red Notice bidding war from yesterday, Universal Studios and Legendary Pictures won the film.  They are no strangers to Johnson projects as they are distributing this summer's Skyscraper.  Reports are that lots of major players in Hollywood were bidding on the project including Netflix, Warner Bros., Paramount and Sony.

As reported yesterday, Red Notice  will feature Johnson as an Interpol agent with a yet to be announced costar. The project looks to be on a fast-track for a 2020 release date. Johnson has moved around his already jam-packed schedule so production can begin ASAP.

This was quite a lucrative offer for Johnson, who will be making $20 million for the film.  Writer and Director Rawson Thurber is reportedly is bringing down an eight-figure payday for the film as well.

Dwayne Johnson's Seven Bucks Productions will co-produce the film.
