Today is the 30th Anniversary of one of the biggest angles in WWE history, Andre the Giant defeating Hulk Hogan to end his first WWF championship reign with the assistance of Ted DiBiase and evil referee Earl Hebner, which was the first live pro wrestling special on prime-time TV in decades. The special, airing live from the Market Square Arena in Indianapolis, aired live on NBC, setting the stage for the WWF championship tournament won by Randy Savage at Wrestlemania IV the following month.
