If it seemed random and weird to you that Dolph Ziggler returned in the Royal Rumble match and not in an angle for the WWE United States championship, you are not alone. PWInsider.com is told that Ziggler was originally penciled in to face Bobby Roode at the Rumble PPV but over the course of the weekend, the decision was made to bump him up to the Rumble match.
We are told Ziggler will be at tomorrow's Smackdown taping as well. Perhaps he will kick off a storyline with Bobby Roode in Philly after all.
