205 LIVE NOW THAT MIXED MATCH CHALLENGE HAS ARRIVED, THE FIRST EVER MATCH ON A RAW TAPING AND MUCH MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2018-01-19 10:00:00

I am on the Manhattan Center website and they list Monday's Raw from 7:30 PM - 9 PM.  I paid $256 for a ticket and I am going to be REALLY heated if the show is only 90 minutes, so of which will undoubtedly be spent watching the Barclays Center on video screens.  Can this be correct?

In speaking to WWE sources, we are told that listing is incorrect.

Could you answer a quick question for me.  I saw the mixed match challenge on the WWE network and its around 30 minutes and 205 live was around 30 minutes.  Are they going to tape 30 minutes of each weekly until the mixed match thing is over.

There's no clear cut answer on this, but my gut says yes, so that they can get the live audience at the tapings done and home.  If they are going to keep 205 Live to 30 minutes, I would advise they tape before Smackdown and just have an insane, balls to the walls tag or six man tag every week as well as a segment setting it up.  That to me seems to be the best use of the real estate for now, as a way to get people buzzing about how good the wrestling is in the shorter version of the series.

In history, they often ask people to remember where you were when a certain monent happened.  So, where were you when the first Raw went on the air?

I was actually sitting in the bleachers at the Manhattan Center!  I was in attendance at the taping and actually have attended every Manhattan Center Raw broadcast.

What was the first ever match on the first ever Raw taping?

Bob Backlund pinned Damien Demento with the Backlund Bridge in a dark match.  The second match was Cheetah (a masked Rocco Rock before he was Rocco Rock) pinning Johnny Rotten (who would later go on to become better known as Rock's partner in The Public Enemy, Johnny Grunge.)

Who would you like to see inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year?

I'll give you a few answers.  First, I think it's vastly overdue that Hillbilly Jim, who was a great babyface character and a long time ambassador for the company, goes in and gets honored.  There's been a lot of talk about the Dudleys going in and they are certainly deserving and if I had to pick a tag team, they would be my team.  Finally, I'd really like to see Molly Holly or Ivory inducted these year as they each had long careers and were the type of workhorses who helped set the stage for what the current female division.  If I had to pick between the two, it would be Holly.
