COULD NEW JAPAN ON AXS TOP WWE RATING, WHAT'S THE POINT OF TODAY'S NWA, ARACHNAMAN AND MIRE

By Mike Johnson on 2017-12-17 10:00:00

With New Japan doing a great building the Jericho vs Omega match and all the press coverage it's received so you think there's any way when it airs on AXS TV the following Friday night it could do better ratings than that weeks Raw or Smackdown? And if so what do you think would be the WWE's response?

I don't believe the New Japan special on AXS TV on 1/6 will have any real chance ot beating Raw or Smackdown, because AXS doesn't have the same clearances that the USA Network has and because AXS in general, while a great cable outlet I enjoy, doesn't have the footprint that USA, which is a monster, has.  No matter what sort of number the show does, the involvement of Jericho and New Japan's push towards greater international growth will be something WWE keeps an eye on.  I don't know how much of a response they actively have.

Big fan of the site, keep up the great work.  I’m sure this has been covered at some on the site, but where are The Revival?

Scott Dawson is out with an injury.  He's expected back within the next 4-6 weeks.

What is the entire point of the new NWA, beyond making YouTube videos?

As of right now, that is the point.  They are trying to establish a foundation and they are doing it by putting content out for free.  Whether this can grow into something grander or not, I give Billy Corgan and his crew credit for having a vision and trying to make it into something.  We will see how it goes but thus far, it's been pretty interesting.  I think more people care about Tim Storm and Nick Aldis than ever did before and building 10K plus YouTube subscribers out of thin air is pretty impressive.

I was watching the latest WWE Unreleased matches DVD.  Who were the Toxic Turtles and why didn't WWE go forward with this?

The Toxic Turtles were Duane Gill (aka Gillberg) and Barry Hardy. My guess is that WWE would have ended up in the sights of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles trademarks and wisely opted to avoid that legal battle.

Who was Arachnaman in WCW?

Brad Armstrong.
