HOW I WOULD HAVE USED KANE’S RETURN, RAW VS. NXT, WHO’S NUMBER TWO AND MORE

I saw on your Facebook page that you and Crowbar disagreed about how Kane has been used at the expense of young talent.  I agree that Kane has value in WWE right now (which you and Crowbar both said).  I liked when you said that back in the day, we could enjoy Andre vs. Hogan and Steamboat vs. Savage on the same show because the smaller guys weren’t fed to the bigger guys all the time like they are now.  So with that said, since it appears we are getting Kane vs. Balor, how would you have booked it?

Mike Eps and I talked about this on the mailbag on Saturday.  I have no problem with Balor wrestling Kane at the Series, but I hate the way it’s been built up.  Balor answered Kane’s challenge on Raw and got destroyed.  Then he got laid out the next week.  So even if he wins at the PPV, more people will have seen him get destroyed on TV.  That doesn’t help Balor.  So if the goal was for Kane to elevate Balor, I would have booked it where they looked much more even and then Balor got the win.  And to be clear, I have no issue with Kane the wrestler or the man that plays him.  On the contrary, I have nothing but respect.  But he is a 50 year old part timer, who wants to become mayor.  He has a place in WWE, for sure, but it can’t be at the expense of the guys working full time in upper card positions.

Settle a bet: What is the number two company in the United States, Ring of Honor or Impact Wrestling?

That’s easy, ROH because Impact is a Canadian company.  And even if they weren’t, ROH is still the number two company.

If WWE is going to have Jinder Mahal vs Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series, what is the endgame or upshot? Does the winner have both belts? Are they ditching the two champion system? Is it merely to make Lesnar an outright face against a "foreign" villain?  It seems like a no win situation to me. If it's for both belts; if Lesnar wins, we now have a less than half-timer as champion of both brands. It is inconceivable that Jinder could beat Brock cleanly, even if he wins with help, Jinder is too weakly booked to carry both belts.

As I type this on Nov. 4, it’s all about bragging rights, and nothing else as far as the storyline goes.

Do you think WWE will ever run an inter-promotional show with nXt and either the Raw or Smackdown rosters?

Ever is a long time but I don’t see them doing it in the foreseeable future.  NXT is its own brand and given how they have debuted most of the NXT talents on the main roster, I don’t want to see Creative booking that kind of card anyway.  I think it would be bad for NXT.

The "Too Sweet" gesture at the end of the Balor-Styles match. Maybe A.J. has the clout with Vince to get away with it but Finn doesn't? Please tell me that, as bad as the decision was to have Kane squash Balor the very next night, Vince didn't do it simply as a punishment for the Bullet Club reference. I'd hate to think a simple show of respect may have actually killed Finn Balor in terms of ever being a top guy on the main roster.

Relax.  It’s not an issue.  In fact, a picture of them doing it has been at the top of the WWE Twitter page for weeks now.
