ANGLE’S MANIA MATCH, MAKING SENSE OF THE SIEGE, WHY PLANNING AHEAD IS IMPORTANT AND MORE

Wrestler and commentators often reference the “entire roster / locker room” being present at something.  Apart from a comment by Eli Drake about “58 (I think) people on the Impact books, the actual numbers are never mentioned.  How many wrestlers do the companies have on their books??

I have never really counted but all of the names on the Superstars’ pages give you an idea for Raw and Smackdown.  NXT will give you an inkling but they also have a lot of people there that are training as well.

Can’t Chad Gable have some sort of animosity towards Jason Jordan for abandoning him after years as a team? His attack actually may make more sense that people think. Maybe it was easier to brush it aside until he saw him in the spirit of battle.  In addition, you can have two guys on the Giants hate each other and then work together to tackle their friends on the Eagles because both teams are rivals. The NFL oversees both teams like the WWE oversees both Raw and Smackdown. We have to look at the sports aspect as well as the entertainment. There is brand loyalty and their sport is fighting so this is how they defend their brand.  I’d be interested in your take. Thank you.

Here’s my take….can we see all of that stuff?  Sure, we could see it.  To me the problem is that they are telling a story and we shouldn’t have to make assumptions, they should outline what the story is and then have the announcers hammer it home.  When they do that, everything is clear.

Did WWE make up their minds to release Emma at any time leading up to her match against Asuka?  If they did, it makes very little sense that they even used her as Asuka's opponent, let alone have her get in so much offense against Asuka (which is a whole other topic for discussion).  They could have easily come up with some story to pull Emma from the match in favour of someone else whose services they knew they would be retaining.

The story I got was that the decided after the two matches with Asuka to let her go.  I couldn’t agree more with you, long term planning is important and this shows a great reason why that is the case.

WWE releases Emma but they keep Dana Brooke on the roster, am I missing something?

A pathway into the mind of Vince McMahon is what you are missing.  He makes the calls so all that matters is what matters to him.

Kurt Angle has said himself that he likely has only a few great matches left in him.  If this is the case and you want to see all of his one-on-one matches be truly great, strictly in terms of match quality, i'm not sure the Miz is the right opponent for him, as some of you on this site have suggested.  Assuming Kurt has about 2 or 3 great singles matches left in WWE, who are the guys you would match him up with?

I think you underestimate the Miz.  A lot.  He has been really, really good the last few years.  I think big match for Angle at WrestleMania would be against HHH.  It seems like they already started the story with the nasty way Stephanie has treated Kurt upon her return.  Kurt can’t fight her, but he can fight her husband.  That would be a match I would want to see.
