The following press release was issued this evening:

EVOLUTIONARY FILMS RAMPS UP RELEASE SCHEDULE WITH UK THEATRICAL FOR AUX & NEW YORK PREMIERE FOR VENGEANCE

Evolutionary Films, the London based vertically integrated film and television company, have confirmed that their first two completely in-house features will debut theatrically on the same weekend on opposite sides of the Atlantic. Both films have been fully developed, financed, produced and distributed by Evolutionary Films from concept to delivery.

AUX, a high-concept horror thriller starring John Rhys-Davies (Indiana Jones, The Lord of the Rings), is releasing theatrically in the UK in Showcase cinemas through Evolutionary’s fast growing distribution label on 10th November 2017. The film has secured a subsequent PVOD window before it’s nationwide home entertainment release in January 2018.

VENGEANCE, an action-packed revenge thriller starring Stu Bennett (aka WWE Superstar Wade Barrett) and action legend Gary Daniels (The Expendables, Fist of the North Star) receives its global premiere at the Urban Action Showcase, hosted by HBO and Cinemax in New York, at the Times Square AMC Theaters on 11th November 2017.

Evolutionary are representing both titles at AFM for international sales and have already secured sales in multiple territories.

Both films have a strong, smart genre focus, with AUX combining elements of traditional, crowd-pleasing slasher-horror with a based-on-true-events World War II twist, and Vengeance amping up the action sequences on the archetypal revenge thriller.

Evolutionary Films has already released several titles in the UK in 2017, including Let Me Go, a moving, true story starring Juliet Stevenson, Jodhi May, Lucy Boynton and Stanley Weber, based on the real life of Helga Schneider, which released theatrically nationwide; family adventure Who Killed Nelson Nutmeg? starring Bonnie Wright; martial arts actioner One Million K(l)icks; and horror movie Cain Hill on Hallowe’en weekend.

For international sales, the company is debuting its Looking For Lennon documentary, the definitive retrospective about the early life of John Lennon which has taken four years to complete; and Written By Mrs Bach: Broken Silence, a controversial modern forensic investigation into whether some of Johann Sebastian Bach’s compositions might actually have been penned by his wife Anna Magdalena, at this AFM.

“We’re very excited that the first of our pipeline of fully in-house films are starting to come to market. Our goal is to release one film every week during 2018 and cement our position as a prolific cross-platform content provider, which, coupled with our television commissions already secured for next year, will ensure that Evolutionary Films continues to grow from its humble beginnings just three years ago,” said Evolutionary Films CEO, John Adams.
