LESNAR-REIGNS, WILL CENA GET CHEERED, A DIFFERENT KANE AND MORE

It's clear that, for some reason, WWE is planning for Roman vs. Lesnar II at Mania next year for the Universal belt. Even though Lesnar part-timing it kind of dilutes whatever prestige they're trying to apply to the championship, they at least have a plan for it. But what the hell is going on with the WWE World Championship? Ever since AJ Styles dropped the belt to Cena, I feel as though there has been little to no importance to the company's most prestigious main-event title. First Bray Wyatt got a pointless transitional reign before being fed to Orton, then Orton himself served as a transition to Jinder Mahal, and since May, Mahal has been booked so horrendously as both a wrestler and a champion that the value of that belt has gone down the tubes. Is there any endgame for the title whatsoever, or is creative content with just utilizing screwy finishes and racist angles for the time being?

Good question.  I don’t have anything against Jinder but the belt has gone cold on his watch.  WWE needs to heat it back up again, and he could be the guy to do it if they book him properly.

This is obviously a subjective question, but in your opinion, what region of the country has benefited professional wrestling the most in terms of talent and influence? I argue that Minneapolis was responsible for fostering and introducing a huge amount of talent in AWA (Hogan, Flair, Road Warriors, Mr. Perfect, HBK, et al) that allowed them to transition to the big time with WWF and NWA during wrestling's move from a regional to a national spotlight.

Without looking at where everyone came from, it’s hard to say.  AWA definitely had a lot of stars that they had no idea how to use.  You didn’t even mentioned Jesse Ventura.

So now I am supposed to accept that RR has now retired 2 of the biggest icons in wrestling? Really? How come I am having a hard time believing it? When a wrestler seems forced to be something he may not be, how long will that illusion last?

Considering that neither of those icons has actually retire red you probably shouldn’t accept that they have.  That is probably why you are having a hard time believing it!  Cena clearly said he was slowing down, he didn’t say retire.  And Taker didn’t say it either.  So we aren’t there quite yet.  Reigns can say he retired Taker all he wants.  Until Taker says it……

Now that Cena is seemingly done as an everyday full-time competitor, do you think that the fans who constantly boo him will cheer him from now on if he limits his in-ring appearances to an Undertaker-like schedule of just a few times a year?

In that scenario, I think at least a good portion of them will cheer him, yes!  But unlike Taker, who is a man of few works, Cena will retain the ability to tick the crowd off in a second if he does a sappy promo.

My next question is, let's just say Glen Jacobs never came around in '95 to the WWE, but the WWE had the idea for the Kane character back then. Who would you guys have considered putting under the mask if you were writing creative? I always thought that Brian Clark (Adam Bomb) was worthy of a great feud or a better run as other than Taker, he was a perfect mesh of power and high-flying ability. What do you guys think?

He could have worked.  Bryan Adams could have too.  Maybe they would have considered Rick Bogner, who played the fake Razon even.  The Kane character benefitted from the outfit and the Taker storyline back then.  That would have made casting easier.
