NXT Bethlehem 9/23 Results

Tonight NXT debuted at the Sands Casino in Bethlehem PA. Impact Wrestling had a cluster of shows here a couple years ago, its a pretty decent venue for a show.
Match 1 - Street Profits defeated Tino Sabatelli and Riddick Moss after the combination Sky High and frog splash. It's amazing how infectious the energy is for the Street Profits, the crowd loved them. Post match they ran into the crowd and danced. They also shared the contents of their solo cup with the host of the show along with ref Drake, and both danced along with the team after the match.
Match 2 - Lars Sullivan defeated Oney Lorcan with a pop up power slam. Awesome hard hitting match. Lorcan seems like the perfect guy to pair with Sullivan to push him. Impressive strong style match
Match 3 - Billie Kaye & Peyton Royce defeated Liv Morgan & Dakota Kai. The Aussies were extremely entertaining, and there was a unique spot where the four somehow ran around the ring after each other about five times. Was bummed we didn't get to see Dakotas around the ring helluva kick finisher though
Match 4 - Roderick Strong defeated Hideo Itami with the End of Heartache. Solid stiff match. Roddy looked great and Hideo is coming into his own as a heel.
Match 5 - Sanity defeated Undisputed Era by count out. This was a treat and a kick to see as for the past five years I've seen Fish, Cole and O'Reilly only at Hammerstein for ROH shows. Great performance by all with the crowd firmly behind Sanity anytime they weren't yelling Adam Cole BayBay! Match ended with the three Undisputed Era members walking out of the ring after EY and co threw them all out.
Match 6 - Johnny Gargano defeated Raul Mendoza with the Gargano Escape. Sleeper match of the night. I was surprised to see Mendoza make the NXT road trip roster but wow what a match he put on. Really meshed well with Johnny Wrestling and the crowd lost it when Mendoza hit the Coast to Coast on Johnny in the tree of woe. Impressive outing and Johnny left Mendoza in the ring to soak up the cheers afterwards.
Match 7 - Kairi Sain defeated Sonya Deville. Awesome getting to see Saine work. She came out with a Pirate Telescope and feather mask. Deville was messing with her at first, rubbing her head and mocking her. Saine returned the favor and hit that unbelievable elbow drop for the win
Match 8 - Drew McIntyre defeated Andrade Cien Almas with the Claymore Kick to retain the NXT Title. Good match, though Andrade was lacking without his new manager by his side. Drew looks like a beast and a whole new man. He hit a great looking second rope Emerald Fusion before winning with the Claymore Kick.
Post match, Undisputed Era came out to take out Drew. Gargano ran out for the save and was beaten down. Oney then ran out and was beaten down. The Street Profits then ran out and were beaten. Finally Sanity came out and wrecked havoc, leaving Cole alone in the ring to eat moves from Gargano, Lorcan, Street Profits and Drew. The five then posed for selfies with the crowd for 10-15 min after and oddly ended with a DX pose on the stage, with Johnny as HBK, Drew as HHH and Montez Ford jumping and giving a crotch chop a la X-Pac.
Said this before and will do again, if NXT is in your area, do yourself a favor and check it out. This was my fourth one and all the cards have been very different. This show felt like the changing of the guard for NXT and can't wait to see where they go from here
