MANAGERS IN WWE GOING FORWARD, WWE MULLING AN ECW RETURN, WWE BOOKS AND MORE

With the passing of Bobby Heenan, do you think we'll ever see someone used in a strong manager position ever again by WWE?

You never want to say never, but I think with the advent of the McMahons and Commissioners and authority figure positions, managers seemed to be squeezed out.  The last one to come along that was really great at the role was Armando Alejandro Estrada and over time, they deempahiszed him in favor of Vince McMahon, so sadly, I think the day of the manager on that level has come and gone.  It sucks, quite frankly.

Where is Slick today?

He is a pastor for a church in Longview, Texas.

Is WWE really going to bring ECW back?  What would be the point?  Can any talent still go?

The ECW content that is in the VOD section of the WWE Network does really well we have been told.  WWE wants to build the tiered system of the Network and get people to pay in the $15-$25 range a month for it.  If they can get fans to pay more for a TV-14 style wrestling product, why not?  I don't know that using the ECW name will work in 2017, but there's no reason they can't have an alternative wrestling product with an edgier style, especially if it's blocked via the Network's parental warnings.   As far as talent, If I was WWE, I'd hire Rob Van Dam to be the centerpiece to bridge from the past, sort of like Terry Funk as in the original.  You could hire Stevie Richards and Nunzio to be older names with legitimacy and then get a bunch of young men and women to populate the rest.   The point is for people to spend money on the WWE Network.  Whether ECW is that answer I don't know, but WWE should explore it and they are, via the fan survey.

Do you think WWE will bring Cody Rhodes to Starrcade?

No.

When WWE releases a book like the Ric Flair/Charlotte book, are they actually writing the book?

It depends on the WWE personality.  My guess is that Brian Shields, in this instance, sat down and interviewed them quite extensively and then wrote the book and then worked with them to make sure it fit their vision.
