WWE ACKNOWLEDGING CREATIVE, THE IMPACT OTT NETWORK, WHAT’S IN A NAME AND MORE

Do you think that WWE should acknowledge the creative side in a substantial way? I doubt that the writers are members of the WGA (Writer's Guild of America), because they aren't mentioned anywhere - but shouldn't credit (and blame) be where credit is due? I know it's complicated, especially with Vince always having the last word, but still. It kinda sucks, that we never get to hear about it, when somebody comes up with a great storyline.

Personally, I don’t need to see that.  The way I have always looked at it is that it all runs through Vince McMahon, in a hands on manor, so he gets the credit and the blame.

Is this maybe also part of an effort to keep Kayfabe alive? Everybody knows that Wrestling is scripted and after that Reigns/Cena promo or even Ziggler talking openly about gimmicks, it feels weird that you still don't know who "Creative" actually is. Seems a bit unfair to me. Your thoughts?

As I said above, I don’t really need to see credits with the names of the writers listed at the end of the show.  In fact, I think ending the show like that instead of leaving on a hot moment would hurt the product.

People are tuning out Impact on a weekly basis and yet Ed Nordholm thinks people will spend $7.99 on an OTT network.  Is he crazy?

If you look at the WWE, they have gotten about 1/3 of the Raw viewership to buy the Network in the US.  If we say that Impact has 300,000 viewers and they get 100,000 to buy the Network, that would be $800,000 a month in revenue.  Personally, I feel that number is high because WWE’s fans have always shown more desire to spend money on their product than Impact’s fans have, but’s let’s just give them the 100,000.  WWE, with an established Network in place, makes about 15 to 20% in OEBDA from the Network.  So let’s go high end for Impact and say they will make 25%, which I feel is high end for sure, that would mean $200,000 a month in what I see as a best case scenario.  If they could bring in even half of that, it’s better than nothing and that company desperately needs any kind of revenue.  It’s worth a try.  With that said I don't see them getting close to a third like WWE does.  WWE gives live PPVS, NXT and much more.  Impact won't be giving fans that.  I think 25,000 people is about the best that they can hope for.

Ed Nordholm also said that Alberto El Patron will be back at the PPV.  Why would he want to return after how poorly Nordholm has treated him?  He suspends a guy for being the victim in a domestic incident.  What sense does that make?

To me, it makes none.  When they suspended him, even thought the Orlando Police Department said he was the victim in the incident, it was just another thing that Nordholm did that made no sense to me.  His explanation didn’t clear anything up and in fact made the situation murkier.  If I were Alberto, I would demand to be paid for the money that was withheld during my suspension.  If I didn’t get it, I would take Impact to court.

I’ve got a question about, why the many different TNA Wrestling / Impact Wrestling / Global Force Wrestling social media accounts? Why haven't the made a full transition to the GFW Wrestling social media accounts? Wouldn't the smart thing be, since the name of the company is GFW Wrestling is to push all of us fans to the GFW social media accounts and dormant the TNA Wrestling / Impact Wrestling social media accounts and stop using them altogether? Is it because they (Anthem) doesn't fully own the GFW name, rights and trademarks? If you watch as I did, the entire GFW Destination - X relaunched was a clusterf**k, they were all over the place with what to call the company '

The revelation that they haven’t completed the purchase of the GFW name is yet another Brick In The Wall of the What Are They Thinking aspect of the company.  But yes, until they actually own the name, I guess it makes sense to not put all the eggs in that basket.
