WOULD WWE BREAK THE BROKEN GIMMICK?, UNDERTAKER, DDPYOGA ON THE NETWORK AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2017-08-17 10:00:00

I know everyone really wants the Broken gimmick to come to WWE but these are the same people that wanted Bailey and Nakamura to be brought up to the main roster and are flabbergasted when it didn't go well.  Let us say Matt wins out and can use the Broken character in WWE...do you really see Vince letting him have complete creative control and doing things like teleportation, metamorphosis, or battling in other companies trying to unite all tag belts? I mean as awesome as it would be to have Brock Lesnar fighting Roman Reigns on top of a volcano...I just don't see any of that happening with the way creative is handle in WWE.

You make a good point.  WWE does not have a good track record of takings things that were developed outside of the company and presenting it as strong as it was independently.  If and when the "Broken" gimmick comes to WWE, there is no way that Matt and Jeff Hardy will have the same creative freedom as everything passes through WWE management, especially Vince McMahon.  That vision won't be the same once its tweaked, plus Jeremy Borash, who has a massive cog in the "Broken" machine, won't be part of the process, either.

I keep on reading in your Q&A section about WWE making budget cuts on things such as pyrotechnics.   Has it really come to this? From my understanding, the RAW and Smackdown Live shows are diluted because Vince is afraid of losing sponsors if the story lines get too far out of the "PG" zone.  If they decided to start taking more risks with their content and made the current sponsors unhappy, couldn't WWE just get new sponsors, who would pay just as much, or even more than what their current sponsors pay, instead of risking the ratings to drop even further?  It's so friggen disappointing to watch, I mean, it's almost like Vince is sabotaging the product on purpose.

It has come to this, but you are wrong in one regard.  WWE went PG because they hit the wall with sponsors and advertisers and by rebooting the product to a PG rated product, they have garnered far more relationships and money than they would have otherwise.  The pyro being removed was a financial concern, but I have no problem with it.  When they bring it back for a major event, it will seem all that more special.  Something isn't special if you see it every broadcast.

I'll start by saying that I love the WWE Network. Between every PPV, NXT, specials like the CWC and U.K. Tournament and essentially every documentary they've done, $10 a month is money well spent. But eventually, and this has happened to some already, their library has lost its lasting appeal. Has there been steps made for airing companies like ICW and PROGRESS, and possibly anyone else they have connections with like EVOLVE?

No changes yet.  It's up to WWE to decide to change to the tiered system and thus far, nothing has been officially announced.

As a DDP Yoga user and having the program literally grant Scott Hall and Jake Roberts HOF spots (well documented as well), could you see them adding DDPY access to the Network for either additional monthly costs through them or the program itself? I feel that the program, accompanied with the Resurrection of Jake The Snake could help add some PAID subscribers.

I am actually shocked WWE hasn't licensed DDPYoga as well as things like The Taz Show.  It's a no brainer to me.

I have a question about The Undertaker. All signs kinda say that he has retired...but is he still under contract with WWE?

Yes.
