DREAMER VS. SWAGGER VS. MVP & MORE: COMPLETE HOUSE OF HARDCORE COVERAGE FROM NEW JERSEY

By Mike Johnson on 2017-08-11 18:39:00

Welcome to PWInsider.com's live, ongoing coverage of House of Hardcore at iPlay America in Freehold, NJ.

Vik Dalishus (with Katred & The Double Duprees) vs. Matt Striker

Dalishus controlled Striker with his power early.  They did the old Midnight Express pumphandle spot, which led to Dalishus' own valet Katred doing it to him.   Striker teased a dive but was nailed in the ropes.   Dalishus pummeled him with right hands and nailed a big suplex, followed by a German suplex for a two count.  Striker mounted a comeback but was nailed with a right hand.   Striker scored with a superkick.  The crowd chanted for another, so Striker obliged, garnering a two count.

The women distracted Striker, who went to the floor and grabbed them.  Dalishuis charged but Striker nailed him.  Back in the ring, Striker and Dalishus battled to the top.  Striker nailed a back cracker off the top and scored the pin.

Your winner, Matt Striker!

Good opener playing up the good vs. evil story.  Dalishus has worked hard to drop a ton of weight and it has led to a big improvement in his work.  Striker played old school '80s babyface big time.

Dalishus took the mic and claimed Striker pulled his tights and refused to leave until the decision was reversed.  They staged a sit-in.  Out came Angelina Love and Velvet Sky.  Live and Katred has words, leading to....

Katred vs. Angelina Love

They went back and forth.  The Duprees tried to interfere and were tossed out by the referee.  Love rolled up Katred for a two count but was nailed with a clothesline.  Katred stomped her and choked Love against the ropes.

Katred continued to work her over until Love nailed a jawbreaker.    Love nailed a big boot and scored the pin.

Your winner, Angelina Love!

Fine, short match.

Out came Joey Mercury.  He was announced as making his first appearance in two years.  Mercury said that he hasn't been at a show in two years and he wanted to thank everyone.  He said that he wanted to also thank Tommy Dreamer for opening the doors to him coming to ECW and for him to be the youngest ECW Original.  He said that now it's come full circle.  Dreamer called him and said that anytime he wants to end his sabbatical, the door is open for him in HOH.  He said he broke into ECW and got to do some things all over the world and got the chance to wrestle in Madison Square Garden.  He said that he worked himself into the inner circle and worked for the best boss ever, Triple H.  The fans booed that.  He said that he really misses working for Hunter and...also misses working in front of polite, respectful audiences.  OK, it's a heel turn.

A fan yelled "stay retired" and Mercury ripped on him and them ripped on the promotion, saying, "Thanks Tommy Dreamer, but no thanks."

Out came Bull James.  James said that he's happy to see nothing has changed and Joey is the same office stooge he's always been.  He told Joey he had a choice of walking out or being forced out.  Joey teased walking out, but then told Bull he wants him to know that Joey was the deciding vote that got Bull fired from NXT, is a talented guy, but will be a "never will be" because he's clueless.

Bull attacked Mercury and beat him all over ringside.  There is a referee in the ring, so apparently it's an official match....

Bull James vs. Joey Mercury

James tossed Mercury into the railing and worked him over with punches.  James was cut off and knocked out to the floor.  Mercury worked him over.

Mercury worked him over with stomps.   He set up for a Superman Punch as if he was Roman Reigns but was cut off with a series of punches, clotheslines and a Doink Drop.    Mercury sent him into the ropes but was nailed with a body splash.  Bull went to the top but Mercury rolled away to the opposite corner of the ring.

Mercury took off one of his shoes and tossed it at Bull's feet.  Bull handed it off to the referee, who went to remove it.  Mercury poked Bull in the eyes and rolled him up for the pin.

Your winner, Joey Mercury!

Mercury looked to be in awesome shape and moved well.  Bull showed some nice fire.
