Coming hot off the heels of the sold-out War of the Worlds 2017 Tour in North America, ROH is thrilled to announce, in conjunction with NJPW, CMLL and Revolution Pro Wrestling, the first-ever War of the Worlds UK Tour from August 18th, 2017 – August 20th, 2017! With stronger-than-ever partnerships, stars from the top professional wrestling organizations in the world will do battle over the course of three nights!
The tour comes in overwhelming response to not only the resoundingly successful ROH Reach for the Sky UK Tour, but also to the rapid sellouts of Ring of Honor, New Japan, CMLL, and Rev Pro events around the globe. The match possibilities are endless, dream teams could be formed, and various championships WILL be contested!
For ROH fans in the United States and Canada, the Liverpool stop of the War of the Worlds UK Tour will be available LIVE on ROHWrestling.com and the Fite.TV app! The event goes live at 1:00 PM EST and the card will feature championship bouts and first-time international battles!
“The American Nightmare” Cody has been a fighting champion since winning the ROH World Championship, to the point of drawing the ire of the ROH Board of Directors. Cody has defended the championship against competitors not contracted to ROH and, in some cases, competitors signed to exclusive contracts with other organizations in whirlwind fashion. Cody is rapidly accumulating successful title defenses but faces a blue chipper on the rise who gets the opportunity of a lifetime and who could end his championship reign LIVE on digital Pay Per View!

Los Ingobernables de Japon has been one of the formidable groups in the world and are no strangers to championship gold. Tetsuya Naito has made his mark as a former IWGP Heavyweight and Intercontinental Champion as has Hiromu Takahashi as IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion. BUSHI, EVIL, and SANADA have dominated the NEVER Openweight Six Men Tag Team Championship scene, accumulating the most title reigns and most days as champion.
LIJ has seen a collection of young stars realize their promise but many feel that their biggest breakout is yet to come. And that breakout may come in Liverpool on digital Pay Per View!
“The American Nightmare” will defend the ROH World Championship against the man many pick to be the breakout New Japan Pro-Wrestling star of 2017, SANADA, in Liverpool! SANADA shocked fans around the world in 2016 when he debuted for New Japan, helping Naito defeat Okada for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. SANADA has been a key force in defeating groups like CHAOS and Taguchi Japan in multi-man matches and picked up the biggest win of his career in the 2016 G1 against the legendary Hiroshi Tanahashi.
SANADA is a big-time match wrestler, picking up wins at major events like Wrestle Kingdom 11 in the Tokyo Dome, The New Beginning in Osaka, and Wrestling Dontaku 2017 and looks to capitalize on an advantageous situation in Liverpool. SANADA faces Cody, a barnstorming champion who is keeping up a whirlwind schedule with a separated shoulder just one night after the historic, first-ever ten-man bout between Bullet Club and LIJ!
