Neither Renee Young nor Daniel Bryan, the regular hosts of the WWE Network's Talking Smack had any idea the series was being dropped as weekly series in favor of a post-PPV broadcast.
On Twitter, Young learned of the cancellation via Twitter from a fan passing along our report, which broke the news, commenting:
Hmmmm that's one way to get news. https://t.co/sNIYUZfD7N

Really disappointed about #TalkingSmack. We tried to make that show great. Guess I'll go back to welcoming my guest at this time.

What is INSANE about the Young situation is that she and Gene Okerlund were in Stamford, CT filming wrap-arounds for the WWE Vintage Collection series, which is syndicated internationally. So, she was there at WWE HQ filming TV and learned about the cancellation on Twitter.
Daniel Bryan also learned the news after signing onto Twitter, remarking:
I come online to support #SamiForSyria and find this out. I'm the GM!!! Nobody tells me anything!!! https://t.co/Dup7nBKvss

PWInsider has also confirmed that the staff working on last night's episode had no idea it was slated to be the last weekly episode.
