WWE officially announced that Ember Moon was being pulled from the scheduled WWE NXT Women's championship Four Way at Takeover: Chicago on 5/20. Moon injured her shoulder during a spot where she was knocked to the floor during a women's battle royal. WWE is crediting Asuka with the injury to build animosity between the two when Moon is cleared to return to the ring.
Asuka will now face Nikki Cross and Ruby Riot in a three-way match at the Takeover: Chicago event, which will air live on the WWE Network the night before Backlash 2017 at the Allstate Arena.
WWE began to quietly remove Moon from listings of the match over the weekend when pushing the Takeover card at live events.
