WWN MERCURY RISING 2017 REPORT: THE FIRST WWN CHAMPION IS CROWNED, PROGRESS VERSUS EVOLVE SERIES, SHINE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH, AND IS THERE A NEW SHERIFF IN EVOLVE?

By Richard Trionfo on 2017-04-01 23:06:00

Welcome to PWInsder.com’s coverage of Mercury Rising 2017 from the Orlando Live Event Center in Orlando, Florida as part of WWN’s More Than Mania.

Lenny Leonard is in the ring and he welcomes everyone to Mercury Rising.  He mentions that the Progress and Evolve titles will be defended on this show.  The main event will feature the crowning of a new WWN Champion.

One of the men in the match, Drew Galloway, makes his way to the ring.  Lenny decides to leave the ring before anything happens to him.

He says he read a quote in the Rock's book.  To succeed all you need is all you have got. That is what he brought to Evolve.  He did not know what a Ricochet or a Timothy Thatcher was.  The company needed a face and that is what Drew Galloway was.  He woke up today with an epiphany.  Does Evolve want to save itself?  Drew says he needs to save WWN from itself.  He needs to become the champion.  Anyone else can win, but it will mean nothing.  He needs to win to take it to the next level.  Too many men have stabbed him in the back.  If anyone in that match tries to take the title, he will do to them what he will do to Matt Riddle.  He will break his f***ing neck.

Drew holds his arms open and Keith gives him a thumb down.  Drew with a kick and he says something to Keith but Keith hits a pop up power bomb and a jackhammer.  Lee goes up top and hits a moonsault.

Officials come to check on Galloway after the assault by Lee.

Keith takes the mic and he says he will straighten things up so everyone can understand.  He says WWN is now his company.  He says the entire wrestling world belongs to the Limitless Keith Lee.  Now Evolve is his home.  So he had to dethrone the supposed king and claim this kingdom for his own.  Keith says that was sufficiently done.  Let him continue on his crusade of being limitless and you can all bask in his glory.  Send out the rest of these opponents.

Stokely Hathaway says Timothy Thatcher will not wrestle in the opening match.  Stokely says the Night of Appreciation for Thatcher has been cancelled.  He says he has negotiated a rematch for Timothy Thatcher for the Evolve Title.  Thatcher has been added to the main event.
