RUMBLE SURPRISES, NEW DOCUMENTARY ON WWE FEMALE DIVISION, STYLES, NEW WWE MOBILE GAME AND MORE NEWS

By Mike Johnson on 2017-01-27 08:33:00

We are told that WWE is waiting until the last second to make decisions on whether there will be any big surprises booked in the Royal Rumble in regard to outside talent popping up.

In regard to three rumors making the rounds for the Royal Rumble that we've been asked about in the last 24 hours, we are told Hulk Hogan is slated to be in Los Angeles this weekend.  Kurt Angle, who has been the name we get asked about the most in terms of Rumble surprises, has told TMZ there's no chance he will be in the Rumble.  Konnan has said publicly that Rey Mysterio's deal with Lucha Underground has expired, which, if the caee, would mean he's free and clear to appear in the Rumble if WWE wanted him.   The NXT roster, even trainees, are also in Texas this weekend.  We have a poll currently ongoing asking who you want to see pop up in the Rumble.  If you are a PWInsider.com reader, click here to vote.  If you are an elite member, click here to vote.

At 9 AM Eastern, I'll be appearing on "First Thing Fairfield County" with Ken Tuccio on 95.9 FM The Fox in Connecticut for several segments to discuss this weekend's WWE Royal Rumble.   You can listen online at http://listen.959thefox.com/#listenlive

There will be a lot of media appearances for WWE talent in San Antonio today.  If you catch any, feel free to send us a recap!

Channel 4 in the UK has debuted a documentary about the WWE women's division that was filmed over the summer.  We are seeking reports of that as well.  Charlotte and Sasha Banks were interviewed by The Telegraph in the UK to promote the doc at this link.

FOX Sports covered the AJ Styles-Today Show story at this link.  This has to be leading to Styles showing up on Today, right?

The following press release, touting the release of a new WWE mobile game, was issued this morning:
