WWN STYLE BATTLE DEBUT EVENT: WHICH OF THE EIGHT MEN SURVIVED TO BECOME THE FIRST STYLE BATTLE WINNER?, FRAY MATCH, AND MORE

Welcome to PWInsider.com’s coverage of the debut of WWN’s Style Battle from the Ivy Astoria Event Center in Ybor City, Florida.  

Eight men will compete in a single elimination tournament to determine the first winner of the Style Battle and advance to the Final Style Battle with the eight Season One Winners.

Your announcers are Mister Saint Laurent and Trevin Adams.

Match Number One: Bracket A First Round Match:  Darby Allin versus Dave Crist

Crist goes for a kick but Allin moves out of the way.  They lock up and each man jockeys for position and Crist backs Allin into the corner but they hold on until Crist applies a side head lock and connects with a shoulder tackle.  Allin with a springboard arm drag and an arm wringer to Crist followed by an arm drag.  Crist goes to the floor and Allin with a trust fall onto Crist on the floor.  Allin sends Crist back into the ring.  Allin with a springboard head butt for a near fall.  Allin comes off the turnbuckles but Crist with a neck breaker.

Crist kicks Allin in the back.  Crist with a chop and snap mare followed by a drop kick and Crist gets a near fall.  Crist with another chop and Irish whip.  Crist misses a kick in the corner and Allin with an elbow.  Crist sends Allin throat first into the top rope and Allin goes down.  Crist with a kick to the chest and Allin has trouble breathing.  Crist gets a near fall.  Allin with a head butt to the chest and then Allin with a rollup for a near fall.  Allin goes for a springboard move but Crist counters with a flatline and he gets a near fall.  Crist sends Allin into the turnbuckles a few times.

Crist with a buckle bomb and a swinging STO for the three count.

Winner:  Dave Crist

After the match, Dave Crist is asked about advancing in the tournament and he puts over Darby and he says he would love to face him again.

Match Number Two:  Bracket A First Round Match: Dezmond Xavier versus Sammy Guevara

Guevara with a take down and he poses for the crowd.  Guevara says this is his house.  Xavier with a take down and he misses a moonsault when Guevara moves.  Xavier says this is his house.  Guevara does some basic tumbling to mock Xavier.  They lock up and Xavier with a wrist lock.  Guevara with a flip to reverse the hold.  Xavier with a reversal and side head lock.  Xavier with a shoulder tackle.  Guevara trips Xavier and Guevara tries for a head scissors but Xavier lands on his feet.  Xavier misses an enzuigiri and mule kick in the corner.  Guevara with a sleeper and he gets on Xavier's back.

Xavier with a head scissors take down and Guevara does the same.  Xavier with a take down and he gets a near fall.  Guevara with a leg sweep and he gets a near fall.  Guevara with a reverse chin lock on Xavier's back.  Sammy with a drop kick and he gets a near fall.  Guevara with a kick and then he chops Xavier.  Xavier with a head scissors and drop kick for a near fall.  

Xavier with a forearm to the head.  Xavier with a chop in the corner.  Guevara with an Irish whip and Xavier tries to float over but Guevara catches him.  Xavier goes to the turnbuckles and Guevara catches Xavier and hits a Samoan drop and follows with a rolling moonsault.  Guevara with a boot to the chest.  Guevara goes for a suplex and he holds Xavier up and finally sends him down to the mat.  Guevara gets a near fall.  Sammy runs the ropes and then he applies a rear chin lock.  Guevara with a kick and a sit out power bomb for a near fall.

Xavier with strikes to Guevara and then he kicks Sammy in the chest and hits a corkscrew splash for a near fall.  Xavier goes for a German suplex but Guevara counters.  Guevara with a belly-to-back suplex set up into an elevated clothesline.  Guevera does the People's 450 leg drop for a near fall.  Guevara runs into a boot in the corner.  Guevara with an Irish whip and Xavier floats over and hits a Northern Lights suplex for a near fall.  Xavier goes up top but Guevara leaps to the turnbuckles and hits a C-4.  Guevara goes back up and he hits a 630 splash but Xavier gets his hand on the rope to stop the count.

 Guevara goes up top again and he misses a 450 splash.  Xavier with a kick to the back and then Xavier goes up top and hits a twisting splash for the three count.

Winner:  Dezmond Xavier (Advances to Bracket Final against Dave Crist)

After the match, Xavier is interviewed about his victory and what condition he is in for his second round match.  Xavier says that Sammy is something special.  He knows that Dave Crist advanced and they know each other well so you are in for something special.  He says that he has plenty in the tank.

Match Number Three:  Bracket B First Round Match:  AR Fox versus Austin Theory

They shake hands and then Austin misses a few punches.  Austin takes Fox down but both men get back to their feet.  Austin with a drop kick.  Austin with a kick but Fox kicks back.  Fox with a chop and he goes to the ropes and then he hits a bulldog out of a wheelbarrow.  Austin goes to the floor and Fox with a springboard inward senton.  Fox goes to the floor and he kicks Austin.  Fox sends Austin into the apron and then Fox goes for a springboard move but Austin moves.  Theory with a choke slam and he kicks Fox in the back and punches him.  Austin chokes Fox in the ropes.

Austin kicks Fox in the back.  Austin runs Fox into the turnbuckles and then he hits an Oklahoma Stampede.  Fox with a rollup for a near fall.  Austin with a clothesline for a near fall.  Austin kicks Fox in the back and punches him.  Austin with a back elbow and he gets a near fall.  Austin punches Fox and hits a German suplex for a near fall.  Austin with kicks and punches followed by a moonsault for a near fall.  

Fox holds on to the ropes to avoid an Irish whip.  Fox with kicks and Slingblade.  Fox with a running clothesline into the corner and Fox skins the cat for a hesitation drop kick and a swanton into the corner.  Fox goes up top and hits a swanton for a near fall.  Austin with an Irish whip and forearm to the back of the head and he hits a spinning sit out power bomb for a near fall.  Fox has a kick blocked and he sends Austin into the turnbuckles.  Fox with a running forearm and Irish whip.  Fox avoids a clothesline and he hits a crucifix bomb out of the corner for a near fall.  

They go to the apron and Fox and Austin exchange forearms.  Fox with a kick and Austin with a forearm.  Austin hits a Fisherman's Buster onto the apron.  Austin with an Asai Moonsault onto Fox on the floor.  They get back into the ring and Austin with a cross body for a near fall.  Fox is put on the turnbuckles and Austin goes for a superplex but Fox boxes the ears.  Fox misses a 450 splash when Austin moves out of the way.  

Fox and Austin exchange punches and forearms from their knees.  They get back to their feet and the forearms continue.  Fox with a back heel kick and Austin with a forearm.  Fox with a bicycle kick.  Austin with a forearm.  Fox with a matrix and enzuigiri.  Fox runs into a boot and Austin goes to the turnbuckles.  Fox with a jumping knee and then Fox hits Low Main Pain and a fisherman's buster for the three count.

Winner: AR Fox

After the match, Fox is interviewed and asked about what will happen when he does not have to face his student.  Fox says it is great to be back in a WWN ring.  He says WWN is the House that AR Fox built.  He was the first Style Battle Winner and tonight, he is going for his second one.

Match Number Four: Bracket B First Round Match:  Fred Yehi versus Anthony Henry

They jockey for position and Yehi grabs the leg and applies a waist lock.  Henry with a wrist lock.  Yehi gets a near fall.  Henry gets to the ropes and the referee forces Yehi to let go.  They lock up and Yehi backs Henry into the corner and Yehi grabs the leg and pulls Henry into the center of the ring.  Yehi works on the leg and Henry is able to escape.  They lock up and Henry with a side head lock.  Henry with a shoulder tackle and Yehi does not budge.  They do it again and end up with the same result.  

Henry with a throw but Yehi starts to work on the leg and he hits a German suplex.  Yehi with a wrist lock and side head lock take down.  Yehi gets a near fall and Henry with a rollup for a near fall.  They lock up and Yehi with a side head lock.  Yehi with a shoulder tackle or two.  Yehi stomps on the hand and then he takes Henry down and tries to stomp on the hand but Henry moves.  Henry kicks Yehi and Yehi goes for a rollup for Henry gets to the ropes.

Yehi and Henry miss kicks and Yehi with a chop.  Henry chops back.  Yehi with a chop but Henry with a forearm.  Yehi blocks a chop and stomps on the leg.  Yehi with a leg sweep and drop kick.  Yehi with a chop in the corner.  Yehi gets a near fall.  Yehi stands on Henry's left hand.  Yehi adds a chin lock.  Henry with punches but Yehi with chops.  Yehi with a chop that sends Henry to the mat.  Yehi with a chin lock suplex for a near fall.  Yehi with head butts.  Yehi with a kick and then he stomps on the hand and stands on it.  Henry picks up Yehi and sends him to the mat and then he kicks Yehi.

Henry with a chop and forearm.  Yehi chops back.  Henry with a round kick to Yehi and Fred goes to the mat.  Henry with a knee drop and he gets a near fall.  Henry with an Irish whip and he runs into an elbow.  Yehi sends Henry into the corner and Yehi with a kick and he stomps on the ankle.  Yehi with a forearm.  Yehi with a fisherman's suplex for a near fall.  Yehi with a body scissors on Henry.  Henry with a rocking chair submission but Yehi is able to escape.  Yehi gets a boot up when Henry charges into the corner.

Yehi floats over in the corner and Henry with a cutter that drops Yehi on the top rope and Fred goes to the floor.  Henry goes to the floor and he kicks Yehi and then connects with forearms.  Henry gets back into the ring while the referee continues his count for Yehi.  Yehi gets back in at nineteen.  Henry with a snap mare and kicks to the back.  Henry kicks Yehi in the chest.  Yehi blocks a kick and he stomps on the feet and then he hits a drop kick.  Fred with chops to Henry.

Yehi decides to go with a series of chops in the corner.  Henry with a super kick and both men are down.  Henry with forearms to Yehi.  Henry with chops but he takes too long and Yehi with a forearm and German suplex.  Henry with forearms and both men are down.  Henry with forearms followed by a brainbuster but Yehi kicks out.  Henry with a figure four head scissors on Yehi.  

Henry with kicks to the chest.  Yehi blocks a kick and he connects with forearms but Henry with forearms.;  Yehi with a drop kick.  Both men with forearms and they both go down.  They get back to their feet and they continue with forearms.  Henry with the advantage.  Yehi stomps on the foot and Henry with a forearm and suplex.  Yehi with a German suplex.  Henry with a suplex.  Yehi with a German suplex.  Henry with a kick and Yehi wtih a forearm and both men are down.

Yehi is the first to his feet but Henry goes up top and hits a missile drop kick.  Henry with a clothesline in the corner and another clothesline.  Henry has a forearm blocked and Yehi with a German suplex.  Henry with a kick and a German suplex for a near fall.  Yehi blocks a suplex attempt and Henry with a kick to the chest.  Yehi with a rollup to counter and he gets a near fall.  Yehi with a drop kick for a near fall.  

Yehi with two German suplexes to Henry as we approach the final minutes of the match.  Yehi with a forearm.  Yehi with a dragon screw followed by a power bomb for a near fall.  Yehi with a forearm for a near fall.  Heny holds on to the ropes to block a flatline.  Yehi sends Henry into the turnbuckles.  Both men are down and the referee makes his count.  Yehi is up first and he puts Henry on the turnbuckles.  Yehi goes for a superplex but Henry blocks it.  Henry pushes Yehi off and Yehi is crotched.  Henry with a clothesline off the turnbuckles and he hits a sit out power bomb but Yehi kicks out.  Henry with a Cobra Stretch,

The referee checks on Yehi but he does not want to give up.  Yehi tries to get to the ropes as Henry rolls back into the center of the ring.  Henry gets a near fall as we have less than two minutes to go in the match.  Henry sets for a Kudo Driver but Yehi escapes.  Henry with a kick but Yehi with an Exploder and Fisherman's suplex and he tries for the Koji Clutch and he has it applied. 

Henry tries to get to the ropes or escape the hold.  

The bell rings as the time limit has run out.

DRAW

After the match, Henry says he did not come here to draw in the Style Battle.  He wants another shot.

Trevin Adams promises Anthony Henry he will have another chance in a future Style Battle.

Match Number Five: Style Battle Bracket A Finals:  Dave Crist versus Dezmond Xavier

Crist charges at Xavier but Xavier moves.  Xavier sends Crist to the floor and he hits a suicide dive.  Xavier with a second one and then he hits a pescado onto Crist.  Xavier gets a near fall. Xavier with punches and then he hits a running elbow into the corner.  Crist with an Irish whip but Crist with a knee and German suplex for a near fall.  Crist with a double stomp for a near fall. 

Xavier with forearms but Crist with a power slam that sends Xavier into the ropes.  Crist kicks Xavier in the leg.  The referee checks on Xavier.  Crist continues to kick Xavier in the corner.  Crist chops Xavier and then gets a near fall after a boot.  Xavier with a forearm and a boot to the chest.  Xavier with forearms but Crist with a boot.  Both men are down.  Crist goes to the apron and he kicks Xavier.  Crist with Meteora for a near fall.  Crist with running knees to Xavier in the corner.  Xavier with an Irish whip and he connects with a kick and Saito suplex out of the corner.  Xavier goes up top and misses the corkscrew splash.

Crist with an Island Driver for the three count.

Winner:  Dave Crist

Dave is interviewed after the match.  He is asked about having to face someone who has only wrestled once.  Dave says he loves Dezmond like a son, but 2017 is the year of Dave Crist.  Tonight, he wins this whole damn thing.  AR Fox, we meet in the finals.

It is time for Intermission.

Match Number Six:  Fray Match

The first two participants are Chris Henry and Trevor Ion.  Henry with forearms and Ion with forearms of his own.  Henry with a leg lariat and he gets a near fall.  Henry with a chop. 

The next entrant is Rob Barnes.  

Ion gets a near fall on Henry.  Barnes with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex.  Barnes with a blue thunder bomb for a near fall.  Barnes with a knee to the midsection.

Jake Omen is the next entrant. Omen sends Henry to the mat and hits a leg drop to eliminate Henry.

Omen with a springboard drop kick to Ion to eliminate him.  Omen punches Barnes and Barnes fires back.  

Mitch Mitchell is the next entrant.

Mitchell punches Barnes and Omen.  Mitchell with a swinging neck breaker to eliminate Barnes.

Hunter Law is the next entrant.

Law with a running forearm to Mitchell.  Law with a drop kick and punch to Mitchell.  Mitchell misses a splash and Law with a kick.  Mitchell with a chop and head butt to Law.  Law with a Falcon Arrow.

Wheeler Uta is next.

Mitchell eliminates Omen.

Uta with a drop kick to the knees and then to the temple of Mitchell.  Mitchell with an Irish whip to Law.

Matthew Palmer is the next entrant and he connects with elbows.  Palmer with a spinebuster to Law followed by a suplex.  Palmer with a kick and buckle bomb to Uta.  Mitchell clotheslines Palmer.  Mitchell kicks Law.

Dante Carbajero is next and he takes care of Mitchell.  Palmer kicks Dante.  Dante with a springboard cross body for a near fall.  Dante is sent into the ring post.  Uta with a tombstone to eliminate Law.

Jason Kincaid is next in the match.

Kincaid kicks Dante and goes for a tornado DDT.  Dante with a super kick.  Palmer and Uta with a double superkick to Dante.  Kincaid is sent to the floor.

Drew Bronson is next.

Dante is pinned by Palmer with a rollup.  Uta with a missile drop kick.  Uta with a flip dive onto the floor.  Palmer with a plancha onto everyone on the floor.

DJ Talamente is next and Bronson stops Talamente.  Bronson with a swinging STO to Talamente.  Kincaid eliminates Bronson.  

The final entrant is Chris Silvio.

Kincaid works over Talamente and hot shots him.  Kincaid with a forearm to knock Silvio off the apron.  Talamente with a neck breaker and Code Red for a near fall.  Mitchell with a belly-to-back suplex on Talamente and then he applies a Sharpshooter and Talamente taps out.  Kincaid with a bulldog to eliminate Mitchel.  Palmer with a frog splash to pin Uta.

Mitchell goes for a Tiger Driver on Kincaid but Kincaid escapes and eliminates Mitchell.  Silvio with a rollup for a near fall.  Silvio gets another near fall.  Silvio goes for a suicide dive and Kincaid catches him with a cutter.  Kincaid with a Dragon Sleeper and Silvio passes out.

Winner:  Jason Kincaid

Before our main event, Dave Crist is asked about his match.  He says he had two brutal matches and AR Fox only had one match.  Dezmond Xavier almost beat him.  Darby Allin almost beat him, but this is the Night of Dave Crist.  He is winning tonight.

AR Fox is asked about the finals of Style Battle and the advantage of only having one match tonight.  Fox says nothing is bothering him because he does this every night.  He is doing this to win it all.  He is going to win.

Match Number Seven:  Style Battle Finals:  AR Fox versus Dave Crist

Crist sends Fox over the top rope to the floor and Crist with a Fosbury Flop onto Fox.  Fox goes to the apron and he hits a moonsault off the ring post.  Fox has Crist hanging off the apron and Fox with a leg drop from the top turnbuckle.  Fox goes up top and hits a Swanton as he tries to finish off Crist early.  Fox gets a near fall.  Fox kicks Crist.  Fox with kicks to the back.  Fox chokes Crist in the ropes and hits a cross body to the back followed by a slingshot leg drop and he gets a near fall.  Fox with a slam and he follows with a split legged moonsault and Fox gets a near fall.

Fox with a forearm to the back.  Fox sends Crist into the turnbuckles.  Fox goes to the apron for a Coast to Coast and he does it with ease.  Crist goes to the apron and Fox with a forearm.  Fox kicks Crist and hits a neck breaker and gets a near fall.  Fox with a neck breaker and he gets a near fall.  Crist with chops.  Fox announces that he is going to suplex Crist to the floor.  Crist does not like what he heard so he blocks it and hits a hanging neck breaker.  Crist hangs Fox on the middle rope and hits a DDT for a near fall.  Crist puts Fox in the tree of woe.  Crist goes up and hits a Coast to Coast.

Crist gets a near fall.  Crist with a standing moonsault for a near fall.  Crist kicks Fox in the back.  Crist with a kick to the head followed by a series of kicks to the chest.  Crist chokes Fox in the ropes.  Fox kicks Crist in the knee and Crist kicks Fox in the chest.  Crist chops Fox.  Crist with a kick but Fox with a Codebreaker for a near fall.  Fox pulls Crist into position in the corner.  Fox goes up top but he takes too long and Crist gets to his feet and he kicks Fox.  Crist climbs the turnbuckles and hits a superplex.

Crist gets a near fall.  Crist kicks Fox and chops him in the corner.  Crist is sent to the apron and Fox with a forearm.  Crist with an enzuigiri and he misses a double stomp.  Fox goes up top and Crist crotches Fox and hits a toss London Bridge but Fox breaks up the count.  Crist gets a near fall.  Crist with a swinging reverse STO for a near fall.  Crist points to the corner and he climbs to the top.  Fox stops Crist.

Crist with head butts, but Fox with a bicycle kick.  Fox with Low Mein Pain and a fisherman buster for a near fall.  Fox goes up top and hits a 450 splash but Crist is able to kick out due to the cover by Fox.  Crist with a thrust kick and a leaping Cutter for the three count.

Winner: Dave Crist
