WWE NXT REPORT: MATCHES FROM MELBOURNE FEATURING JOE VERSUS NAKAMURA IN A STEEL CAGE, DIY VERSUS TM61, AND MORE

NXT continues its international tour with a show in Melbourne, Australia.

Your announcers are Tom Phillips and Corey Graves.

Match Number One:  Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder versus Riddick Moss and Tino Sabbatelli

Dawson and Moss start things off and they lock up.  Wilder discusses strategy with Dawson from the apron.  They lock up and Dawson with a side head lock take down but Moss with a head scissors.  Moss with a rollup for a near fall.  Dawson with a wrist lock and Moss with a waist lock and wrist lock.  Tino tags in and he continues to work on the arm and wrist.  Tino with a back drop and he holds on to the wrist lock.  Dawson with a knee and Wilder tags in and Wilder with a knee and forearm to the back.  Wilder with a European uppercut followed by a forearm to the back.

Wilder with a knee to the head.  Tino with an Irish whip but Wilder floats over and kicks Tino.  Wilder with a shoulder tackle and then Tino hits a twisting cross body for a near fall.  Moss tags in and Moss with a running knee and then Tino slams Wilder and Moss follows with an elbow drop for a near fall.

Moss with a side head lock and Wilder with a running forearm to the throat.  Dawson tags in and he kicks Moss.  Dawson with chops and European uppercuts in the corner.  Moss with a punch but Dawson with a snap mare.  Moss with a clothesline to Dawson and a Fallaway Slam to Wilder.  Dawson hits Moss from behind but Moss with an Irish whip.  Dawson with a knee and he goes up top.

Moss catches Dawson and hits a Fallaway Slam.  Tino comes in and they Irish whip Dawson and Wilder into each other.  Dawson and Wilder go to the floor to regroup.  Wilder gets caught up in the ropes and the referee sends Wilder back to the apron and that allows Dawson to use a thumb to the eyes.  Dawson runs Moss’ eyes across the top rope and then slams Moss.  Dawson tags Wilder in and hits an atomic drop leg drop on Moss for a near fall. 

Wilder with a shoulder against the ropes.  Dawson tags in and punches Moss before coming back into the ring.  Dawson with a slingshot suplex and he gets a near fall.  Wilder tags in and he punches Moss in the ribs.  Wilder with a reverse chin lock.  Moss sends Wilder into the turnbuckles and he lands awkwardly.  Both men are down but Wilder is able to tag Dawson in and keep Moss from making the tag.  Moss misses an enzuigiri but Dawson misses an elbow.  Tino tags in and he punches Dawson and clotheslines him.  Tino with a drop kick to Dawson and Wilder.  Tino with a forearm in the corner.  Wilder is press slammed onto Dawson.  Tino with a power slam and he gets a near fall.  Moss tags in and Wilder trips Tino and pulls him to the floor.  Dawson with a head butt to the midsection and then he goes for the slingshot suplex but Moss blocks it.  Moss with an O’Connor Roll on Wilder.  Wilder accidentally hits Dawson when Moss moves and Moss with a rollup for a near fall.

Moss with punches and Dawson makes the blind tag and they hit Shatter Machine for the three count.

Winners:  Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson

We go to commercial.

We are back and Elias Samson is here to sing for the people of Melbourne, but he is not appreciative of the reaction so he refuses to sing . . . for a moment.

Match Number Two:  Buddy Murphy and Tye Dillinger versus Bobby Roode and Elias Samson

Murphy and Roode start things off and they lock up.  Roode with a waist lock take down and then he spins on Murphy’s back and slaps Murphy and shows him no respect.  Roode rates his early match performance.  Murphy gets the local crowd behind him.  They lock up and Roode with a side head lock.  Roode with a shoulder tackle and sunset flip but Murphy rolls through and hits a drop kick for a near fall.  Murphy with an arm bar.  Dillinger wants the tag and Murphy obliges but Roode gets out of the hold and goes into his corner. 
Roode circles Dillinger and then he . . . tags in Samson.  They lock up and Samson with a top wrist lock.  Dillinger with a snap mare and cartwheel.  Samson with an elbow and he sends Dillinger to the floor.  Dillinger trips Samson and hits a slingshot splash.  Murphy tags in and he goes up top and connects with boots to the arm.  Murphy with an arm bar and he tags in Dillinger.  Tye with a forearm off the turnbuckles and he brings Roode into the ring with a hip toss.  Dillinger kicks Roode in the corner and Dillinger punches Samson when he tries to attack Tye from behind.  Tye with punches from the turnbuckles.  Roode distracts Dillinger and Samson with a jumping knee to the head.

Roode tags in and he punches and kicks Dillinger in the corner.  Roode with an Irish whip and Dillinger with an elbow.  Roode with a spinebuster as Dillinger comes out of the corner.  Samson tags in and punches Dillinger.  Samson with a punch to the back but Dillinger with a kick.  Samson with a clothesline.  Roode tags in and he kicks Dillinger and tries to draw in Murphy.  Roode sends Dillinger into the turnbuckles and Roode punches Dillinger.  Dillinger with a super kick to Roode and both men are down. Murphy and Samson tag in and Murphy with elbows and a clothesline.  Murphy with a leg lariat and kip up.  Murphy with a basement Meteora for a near fall.  Murphy with an enzuigiri and then he goes up top for Meteora.  Roode knocks Dillinger off the apron after breaking up the cover.  Dillinger makes the blind tag and Murphy with a head scissors to Roode.  Murphy with a flip dive onto Roode on the floor.  Dillinger with the Tye Breaker for the three count.

Winners:  Tye Dillinger and Buddy Murphy

Match Number Three:  Billie Kay versus Liv Morgan versus Ember Moon

Billie prevents a handshake between Liv and Ember and then Billie goes to the floor.  Liv and Ember lock up and Liv with a shoulder tackle but Ember with a head scissors take down.  Billie tries to get back into the ring but Ember sees her so she goes back to the floor.  Liv with a drop kick and a satellite head scissors.  Liv gets Billie spun around in a double leg nelson and gets a near fall.  Liv with a double bulldog.

Liv with near falls on Ember and Billie as they kick out and send Liv onto the other.  Liv with a leap frog Thesz Press on Ember but Billie throws Liv to the floor.  Moon with a rollup on Kay for a near fall.  Billie goes for Sole Food and gets a near fall on Ember.  Billie with a punch to Ember and then she kicks Ember in the corner and chokes her.  Billie kicks Liv in the midsection and Moon gets a rollup on Kay.  Billie does not appreciate the crowd chanting for her and she hits a suplex.

Liv with a running drop kick to Billie for a near fall.  Billie sends Liv to the apron and then Ember with a thrust kick to knock Liv off the apron.  Billie with a rolling elbow on Ember and she gets a near fall.  Billie with forearms to Moon but Moon with a forearm.  Billie moves and Moon goes to the floor.

Billie back drops a charging Liv Morgan and Liv hits the apron awkwardly so the referee checks on Liv.  Billie sends both women back into the ring and Billie gets a near fall on Liv . . . and then a near fall on Ember.  Billie chops Ember and Liv.  Ember and Liv return the favor with a double chop.  Liv and Ember exchange forearms and then Moon with a springboard cross body for a near fall on Morgan.

Moon with a thrust kick and a series of round kicks.  Moon with a butterfly suplex on Billie.  Ember with a handspring clothesline to Kay and she goes up top but Morgan stops her.  Morgan with a forearm to the back.  Kay gets a near fall with a power bomb on Morgan.  Moon stands on the turnbuckles and hits the Total Eclipse on Kay for the three count.

Winner:  Ember Moon

Match Number Four:  Shane Thorne and Nick Miller versus Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa for the NXT Tag Team Championships

They shake hands before the bell rings and then Thorne and Ciampa start things off.  They lock up and Ciampa with a waist lock but Thorne with a standing switch.  Ciampa with a reversal and Thorne with a flip to reverse followed by a snap mare and Thorne with a rollup but Ciampa escapes.  Ciampa with a cover but no count. 

Miller and Gargano tag in.  Miller with a side head lock and shoulder tackle.  Miller with a rollup for a near fall.  Miller with a shoulder tackle and wrist lock.  Miller with an arm bar on Gargano.  Gargano with forearms and Miller with a chop.  Gargano with a chop and Miller with European uppercuts.  Miller with a delayed vertical suplex on Gargano and he gets a near fall.

Miller with an Irish whip and Gargano floats over and rolls Miller up and connects with a round kick to the head.  Gargano chops Miller and tags in Ciampa.  Ciampa with a running knee while Gargano hits an enzuigiri on the apron.  Ciampa with a suplex for a near fall.

Ciampa works on the arm and applies a hammer lock.  Miller with an elbow and Thorne tags in.  They hit a moonsault and fist drop combination on Ciampa.  Miller with a suicide dive onto Ciampa and Gargano.  Thorne with a Falcon Arrow on Ciampa for a near fall. 

We go to commercial.

We are back and Thorne with a European uppercut to Ciampa.  Thorne goes for a handspring move but Ciampa with a drop kick to stop Thorne.  Gargano tags in and he kicks Thorne in the shoulder.  Thorne with punches.  Gargano with a snap mare and drop kick to the back of the head for a near fall.  Gargano with a rollup into a submission hold but Thorne gets a near fall with a rollup.

Ciampa tags in and he snap mares Thorne and chops him.  Ciampa kicks Thorne in the corner and Thorne with boots to Ciampa when he charges into the corner and Thorne with a drop kick.  Miller tags in and he clotheslines Ciampa and knocks Gargano down in the corner.  Miller with a belly-to-back suplex to Ciampa followed by an Exploder to Gargano.  Miller with a Sliding D for a near fall on Ciampa.   Gargano tags in and hits the slingshot spear from the apron for a near fall.

Miller with an Irish whip and Gargano gets his boot up.  Gargano with a tornado DDT and enzuigiri combination for a near fall.  Gargano with punches and Ciampa tags in.  Ciampa goes for the knee and Gargano goes for an enzuigiri but Miller takes care of Gargano.  Miller with an Exploder on Ciampa and he sets for a superplex.  Ciampa blocks the move. Thorne tags in and Ciampa with a head butt and Miller and Thorne hit their own tower of doom power bomb superplex combination and Gargano breaks up the cover.

Gargano with a super kick to Miller but Thorne with an uppercut.  Ciampa with a discus clothesline and he sets for Project Ciampa and hits it but Miller breaks up the cover.  Miller with forearms to Gargano and Gargano fires back.  Gargano with an enzuigiri and Miller with an uppercut.  Miller misses a clothesline and Gargano with a rollup but he misses the kick.  Miller with a power bomb for a near fall.  Ciampa tags in and they hit the running knee and super kick combination for the three count.

Winners:  Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano

We are back with a video package for Samoa Joe versus Shinsuke Nakamura.

Match Number Five:   Shinsuke Nakamura versus Samoa Joe for the NXT Championship

Both men stare each other down before making the first move in the match.  They lock up and Nakamura takes Joe to the mat.  Joe with a front face lock and Joe backs Nakamura into the ropes.  Joe backs Nakamura into the turnbuckles and Joe with a knee.  Nakamura does the wavy arms break but Joe tries to send Nakamura into the cage but Nakamura avoids it and he connects with a knee to the midsection and follows with a knee drop.  Nakamura with the rapid kicks in the corner.  Joe picks up Nakamura and throws him into the cage.  Joe with jabs to Nakamura on the apron and then Joe hits a running forearm that sends Nakamura hard into the cage.

We go to commercial.       

We are back and Nakamura with forearms but Joe with a back elbow and then he chops Nakamura in the back and follows with a kick and elbow drop for a near fall.  Joe with a kick to the back.  Joe goes for a power bomb but Nakamura blocks it.  Nakamura with forearms and then Joe sends Nakamura into the cage a few times.  Joe with a rolling leg sweep for a near fall.  Joe works on the neck.  Nakamura with a running boot to Joe and both men are down.  Nakamura with a kick to the chest followed by an enzuigiri.  Nakamura with a running elbow to Joe and then he puts Joe on the turnbuckles and Nakamura with a running knee to the midsection and then he hits running boot with Joe against the cage.

Nakamura gets a near fall.  Nakamura goes for a reverse Exploder but Joe blocks it.  Joe with a reverse atomic drop followed by a kick but he misses the back senton.  Nakamura starts to climb the cage.  Joe sends Nakamura to the mat and then he sets for the power bomb and he hits it and then he gets a near fall and then he applies an STF.  Joe turns it into a crossface and Nakamura tries to fight out of the hold and Nakamura gets a near fall with a rollup.  Joe with a power slam for a near fall. 

Joe with jabs and chops in the corner.  Joe puts Nakamura on the turnbuckles and sets for a muscle buster but Nakamura kicks Joe away.  Joe with an enzuigiri that knocks Nakamura off the turnbuckles and onto the apron.  Joe slams Nakamura’s face into the cage and connects with knees to the head.  Joe with another knee and a clothesline for a near fall. 

We go to commercial.

We are back and Joe kneels over Nakamura before picking him up.  Nakamura with a knee and he misses a kick but he does not miss with an enzuigiri.  Nakamura with knees to the head.  Nakamura tries for the inverted exploder but Joe blocks it and Nakamura sends Joe into the cage and hits a German suplex.  Nakamura charges at Joe and Joe with a power slam for a near fall.  Joe and Nakamura exchange forearms.  Joe and Nakamura with multiple forearms as they exchange.  Joe with slaps and he avoids a kick.  Joe with the Kokina Clutch and Nakamura uses the ropes to propel himself to escape the hold.

Nakamura with a kick and a sliding knee to the temple.  Nakamura gets a near fall.  Nakamura climbs the cage but Joe follows and stops him.  Joe with punches and he tries for a super Musclebuster but Nakamura blocks it.  Nakamura slams Joe's head into the cage and Nakamura with a sunset flip power bomb and both men are down.  Nakamura climbs to the top rope and hits Kinshasa but he cannot capitalize. 

Nakamura has the door opened for him and then he decides to stay in the cage so he closes the door.  Nakamura with Kinshasa.  Joe gets up and Nakamura hits a second Kinshasa for the three count.

Winner:  Shinsuke Nakamura
