WHAT THEY COULD DO WITH FINN BALOR AT MANIA, HOW OLDER, MADE TALENTS SHOULD BE USED, CENA ON SMACKDOWN AND MORE

If his recovery went well, Finn Balor should be able to return in the coming months. With all obvious storylines for Mania I don't really see a spot for him. Two scenarios come to mind: He goes after the guy who injured him or he goes after the title he never lost.  Rollins isn't available for a revenge-storyline cause he's wrestling HHH. Owens will most likely fight Jericho (for the title?). You have an idea what could be next for him? (I would prefer: Return and win at RR, then face Styles at WM).

There’s no reason he can’t win the Rumble and challenge for the Title.  It would be a great way to push him strongly as he never lost his Title in the first place. It could be that they hold off Jericho and Owens.  That would work for me.

Hi, Happy New Year to all PW Insider staff. With it now been 2017 we are only a couple of months away from Wrestlemania. So my questions are A) what do you believe will be the final Wrestlemania card and B) it you where booking Wrestlemania, what would your dream card be for this year, with the current roster and some legends or injured stars that have a realistic chance of returning for the show?

It’s way too soon to say as WWE doesn’t even know yet.  I can’t give you a dream card because I don’t have booking control and I would need to be able to write TV for the next three months to make some of what I would want to do make sense at Mania.

I can’t believe I’m saying this but with the exception of John Cena with his US Title open challenge and his straight losses to AJ Styles, no one has put over any up and coming stars recently.

Nash and HHH buried CM Punk
Batista and HHH were forced to put over Bryan.
Taker beat Bray at WM.
I love The Rock but Rock vs Cena was average and then The Rock buried Rowan and Rusev.
I’m not interested in Goldberg vs Lesnar III (I wasn’t interested in I or II either)

I would much rather see Lesnar vs Cesaro, Samoa Joe, Nakamura, Kevin Owens, Roode etc. It would also be be worth more to the WWE in the long run. Do WWE not realize that by actually giving a younger guy a win on a big PPV match over an established guy - especially one from the Attitude Era, they would build a start they could rely on for years to come…?

Believe me when I tell you this, I feel your pain.  I wonder the same exact things.  Vince McMahon would probably say he can’t do those matches because half of the guys in them “aren’t stars”.  The flip side is that he is the one that gives the guys chances to become stars and if they aren’t presented that way, they will never have the chance to show that they are.  Now, you can’t just gut NXT of guys that the hardcore fans know, but WWE has the platform to present talents in a strong fashion and too often they don’t, they just don’t.

I have really enjoyed Smackdown for the past few months and, according to the television ratings, I'm not the only one. Aside from the Undertaker showing up at Smackdown 900, everyone pops for him, the show has been a savior for some of the wrestlers whose talents were being wasted. Then last night Cena opened the show doing his normal shtick (yawn), and immediately is inserted into the title match at the Royal Rumble. After seeing AJ, Ziggler, and Corbin deliver a PPV worthy match Cena comes in and sucks the air out of the moment. Shouldn't Cena be on Raw considering how it's booked? Am I the only one who wishes Corbin should've been in the match? If Cena has to be in the title match, I think an awesome angle would be to have Corbin destroy Cena on his way to the ring and take his place. Then there's a feud worthy of a Wrestlmania match.

As long as Cena loses at the Rumble to AJ, I don’t have a problem with it.  It could be he will be a part of an AJ face turn.  I think Cena is fine on Smackdown as long as he is not booked as the THE guy.  Corbin came out of last week looking fine.  I want to see more of a push for him as well but since he is probably not in the Title picture for Mania, I would rather have him wait until after Mania and then get a legitimate shot at being in a Title feud, which I don’t think will happen at this time.

I feel so bad for Bray Wyatt. The poor guy cannot catch a break! They could have made The Wyatt Family into a real bad team, but once again, they tossed him out in the snow and locked the door. I know they wanted AA to have titles, but to me it is just another instance of dumping on BW.  I have also thought for some time that they could really make a monster out of Jinder Mahal. Do you think they ever will, or will he forever be a jobber, like Heath Slater or Zak Ryder?

As I type this on Sunday, I am curious to see how they follow up Mahal helping Rusev lay out Enzo.  I hope they don’t make Jinder the job guy.  As for Bray, I couldn’t agree more.  They had a great asset in him and have used him very poorly.
