WWE SMACKDOWN REPORT: A NEW WAY TO START OFF THE SHOW, RYDER MAKES A CHALLENGE, ZAYN VERSUS JERICHO, AND MORE

By Richard Trionfo on 2016-07-07 21:57:00

We start off tonight’s show with a look at the Club talking too quietly to be heard from earlier today.

We also see Chris Jericho from earlier today and he is channeling his inner Stuart Smalley.  He talks about how Sami Zayn is going to get ‘it’ tonight.  A production assistant asks what is it.  Chris wants to know where his blue scarf is.

Sami Zayn says he loves to talk about how he is the greatest in the world at what he does.  What will happen when he wins tonight?  Chris will have to deal with being second best.

Seth Rollins enters the arena and he sees Jey Uso.  He tells Jey he thought his family traveled in packs . . . or what is left of his family.

Jey says Mr. Jiminy Cricket has a big mouth.

Seth says you cannot be mad at him for telling the truth.  It is not his fault that Jey’s cousin is a cheater and his father’s finisher was called the Stinkface.

Jey says it is not his fault he lost the title in two minutes.  He tells Seth he will be shutting him up.

Seth says it is never Seth versus Jey.  It is Seth versus Jey, Jimmy, Tito, and Jermaine.

Seth calls Jey a joke.

Jey says it is one on one tonight.

Seth accepts the challenge.

We are in Toledo, Ohio and your announcers are Mauro Ranallo, Byron Saxton, and Jerry Lawler.

Dean Ambrose interrupts JoJo’s introduction of the opening match and he makes his way to the ring.

Dean takes the mic and apologizes to JoJo.  He says he always wanted to give this ring announcing thing a try.  He thought he could be the next Howard Finkel, but taller and with hair.  As the WWE Champion, he has some stroke.  You are looking at the guest ring announcer for the first match.
After doing the ring announcements, Dean sits next to the announcers.

After the match, Rollins yells at Dean to make the announcement that he won, but Dean does not want to do it.

Dean gets on the announce table and he makes the announcement that the Human Equivalent of a Root Canal and still a Jackass, Seth ‘Slimy’ Rollins is the winner.

Dean says he needs to get a little closer and he goes into the ring, but Seth leaves and heads up the ramp.

Dean says he was going to raise Seth’s hand, but instead he will raise the title belt.  He will do the same after he wins at Battleground when he beats Seth and Roman Reigns.

Becky Lynch walks in the back as we go to commercial.

We are back and Greg Hamilton asks Rusev about Zack Ryder’s challenge.  Rusev asks if Zack saw what he did to Titus O’Neil on Raw.  It takes a lot to make a challenge from far away.  Maybe if Zack makes the challenge to his face on Monday at Raw, he will think he is not a loser.  Rusev then says that all Americans are losers.

They do their usual introduction.

Colin says what happened on Monday night was not about them saving John Cena or having an issue with the Club.  It is about sending a message.  If the Club thinks they can come out week after week after week to beat up John Cena, what will stop that from doing it to anyone else?

AJ Styles’ music plays and he comes to the stage with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson.

AJ apologizes for interrupting, the same thing they did last week when they were doing their favorite thing . . . beating up John Cena.  AJ asks if anyone has seen John.  What will they do since Cena is not here.

AJ says he was not talking to Colin, he was talking to the guy who looks like a bird.

Enzo asks AJ if he is talking to him and he asks him a few times to make sure everyone knows what is going on.

Enzo says EskimoZo is not sweating anybody or the Club.  You claim you are Too Sweet, but you are not a good remake.  You need to step into the ring for one round with Sugar Ray Amore and you will exit the ring as a diabetic.
