9/9 RING OF HONOR SPOILERS FROM CLEVELAND, OHIO

By Vanessa Jordan on 2023-09-10 23:59:00

I attended the AEW Collision taping on Saturday 9/9.  Not a big crowd here in Cleveland, which is crazy since Moxley is from here.

I saw you didn't have these, so here are the results from the non-broadcast parts of the show:

Ring of Honor before Collision:

*AAA Latin American Champion QT Marshall pinned Metallik with a sit-out powerbomb.  Metallik hit several dives.  Good match.

*Wille Mack and The Infantry defeated The Outrunners and Kevin Ku when Kun was hit with a triple-team attack, including a Mack stunner and was pinned.

Tony Khan Show:

Before Collision went live, AEW President Tony Khan came out on stage to a Randy Newman song.  He asked if we were ready for Collision and said that he always wanted to come out to that song.  He promised some of the biggest stars in professional wrestling and the song played again as he left.

After Collision, Khan came out and said this was a just the first time Collision will be here.  He asked who had been to AEW before and who was here for the first time.  He said that they had more coming from ROH for the purists and connoisseurs of pro wrestling.  He thanked everyone for coming.

As they were about to start ROH again, Khan came out and said he appreciates everyone.

Ring of Honor after Collision:

*ROH World Heavyweight Champion Claudio Castagnoli pinned Rocky Romero.  Romero hit a big dive to send Claudio crashing over the announcing table.  Big swing from Claudio but Romero didn't tap, so he's tougher than Chris Jericho!   Claudio scored the pinfall with an elevated European uppercut.

*Mercedes Martinez defeated Zoey Lynn.  There was a funny moment where someone was trying to start a chant for Lynn and Mercedes quipped, "Really?  You don't even know her!"  It was mostly Martinez but Lynn got a few moments where it appeared she would turn it around before getting caught in a Dragon Sleeper variation and tapped out.

*The Gates of Agony with Dancing Prince Nana defeated Cole Radrick and Matt Brannigan.

*Darius Martin pinned Christopher Daniels when he reversed a pinfall attempt.  That should be considered one of his biggest singles wins to date, right?

*Shane Taylor pinned Lee Johnson.  Lee Moriarty came out at ringside and left with Taylor.  Tony Khan came out and said the referee's decision was final but it was a controversial ending.  Taylor took the mic from him and said there was nothing questionable - everyone from Cleveland knows who's the man around here.  He said that since he got here, he's been acting humble but he's tired of acting humble and acting like when he sees the ROH logo, Shane Taylor and Shane Taylor promotion hasn't "carried this b***h for three years.  He's sick of not acting like the man when he knows he is.  It's time Tony Khan starts putting respect on his name.  He announced Lee Moriarty was the newest member of Shane Taylor Promotions.  He said they're going to make some history.

*Willow Nightingale pinned Lady Frost with a Tom Prichard Doctor Bomb.

*Josh Woods defeated Dominic Garrini after driving him into the buckles with a twisting suplex.

*Ethan Page pinned Griff Garrison with a cutter.  Maria Kanellis was scouting the match.

*The Workhorse Men defeated The Boys.

*AR Fox pinned Tony Nese in a fun back and forth match.

Darby Allin came out and asked everyone to give it up for Fox.  He said that Fox took him in when Darby was homeless in Atlanta and now that Fox is signed with AEW, it's a full circle moment.  He thanked everyone for staying so late.  He said it means a lot when the fans are there for you when you are busting your ass so late.  He went around the ringside area signing and taking photos to close the show.
