Freelance and Freelance Underground presents Chicago’s Secret Stash
We are relatively live to tape from an undisclosed location in or around Chicago, IL, for Chicago’s Secret Stash. Val Capone and Sterling Richards are on commentary. This is Freelance’s first live event in the Chicagoland area in over a year. There are scattered fans allowed in the undisclosed location, maybe a couple dozen, tops. And we’re starting with the Scramble match.
Danger Mask vs Chico Suave vs Sage Phillips vs Torero vs Sean Galway vs Jackson P Larkin
Danger Mask hits Jackson P Larkin with a Shooting Star Press, but Sage Phillips prevents the cover, and Chico Suave sneaks in to get the pinfall.
Non-title Match: Freelance Underground Independent Champion Laynie Luck vs Freelance Underground Champion GPA
We’re told these two are a couple outside the ring and have been training together in the Freelance gym. Commentary also mentions a bit of jealousy from GPA that Luck was ranked on the PWI 500 and the Women’s 100, and he was overlooked. Luck has wrestled on occasion during the pandemic, but GPA has not. Luck set up for the second rope cutter, but GPA used the referee to block it. GPA gets the win with a jackknife clutch and his feet on the ropes.
Effy vs Trevor Outlaw
Effy wins with a dragon sleeper.
Acid Jaz and Marshe Rockett vs Koda Hernandez and Darius Latrell
Apparently, Koda Hernandez is known for having contraband on him, and surely, he does. A shiv and a Lunchable. Acid Jaz came prepared with some kind of dagger. That is definitely not legal. It’s two relative newcomers from the Freelance Academy versus two stalwarts of Chicago wrestling. Acid Jaz spits Swiss Miss into Latrell’s eyes, and Rockett hits M80 on Hernandez for the win.
Cole Radrick vs Angel Escalera
This is Escalera’s debut with Freelance and Freelance Underground after four years of training. Radrick attempts multiple submissions, but Escalera holds on. Escalera wins with a moonsault in an obvious upset. Escalera is very emotional with the win.
Jordan Oliver vs August Matthews
This is August Matthews’ first singles match in Freelance, taking on the more established and well-known Jordan Oliver. Jordan Oliver wins with a Boston Crab. Apparently, Oliver is the “master” of the Boston Crab. Is that a thing?
Freelance Legacy Champion Robert Anthony w/ Frank the Clown vs Storm Grayson
Anthony and Frank the Clown start arguing with some of the fans in attendance. This is Anthony’s first defense since winning the title at the Collective last fall. Frank the Clown grabs the belt and tosses it to Robert Anthony, distracting the referee. Frank kicks Grayson low, and Anthony hits a second Mandalorian Driver to get the win and retain the title.
