ACTION Wrestling & Southern Underground Pro "Have Fun, Be Sad"

4/9/21 - Noon

Tampa, FL - Streaming on IWTV.live

I am pretty fired up for this card. ACTION’s Scott Hensley delivers all the sponsor tag and asks the the crowd for their energy. He brings out SUP’s Righteous Jesse to scream at them, firing them up for the opening matchup! Dylan Hales and Johnny Mosely are your commentators.

Match 1: “The Truth” AJ Gray(c) vs. “The Blue Collar Badass” JD Drake (for the SUP Bonestorm Championship)

Kicking this off hot, I see! Drake drops the straps and asks to trade chops. This is LOUD and GROSS SOUNDING. Drake blasts Gray down. Gray tries a pounce but Drake absorbs it. Gray with a big powerslam for two. Drake to the outside, Gray follow and we’re trading more loud strikes and chops. Gray thrown up to the ropes and chopped off of them. OW. Body slam with a headbutt drop chaser. Drake with a big Vader bomb and Gray is out but SHOCKED at how close that was. Trading kicks to the spine, who needs a spine?  Drake with a jumping splash for another two. Gray eating beefy corner chops but fires up with a flurry out of there, step up enziguri, German suplex bridge for two. The champ is mad! Another enziguri, another german, uranage for two! “This is awesome” chants the crowd. Trading more chops but they are staggering each other hard. Drake throws a high kick and a huge corner cannonball. Drake whiffs a moonsault and Gray rebounds with a lariat that starches Drake. The ref may have expected a kick out but Drake was stone cold on the mat for the hand to hit the three. This was the OPENER! Gray with that BIG FIGHT ENERGY and Drake was giving it right back. Awesome.

Winner: (And Stillllll): AJ Gray

Match 2: The Good Hand (Sugar Dunkerton & Kevin Ryan) vs. SUP OG’s (Brett Ison & Cabana Man Dan)

ACTION’s best current storyline just invaded Mania week. Ison wants revenge from the beat he took a few weeks ago from The Good Hand and teams with CMD, who has his own bone to pick with Suge. Suge’s on the mic...he says he’s ready to be killed today but they will have to work for it. The Good Hand doesn’t wait for CMD to hit the ring and attack Ison on his entrance. Dan runs in to make the save while Suge and Ison battle on the outside. Suge laying in some wicked chops but the Pitbull catches him with a big fallaway slam. Ryan misses a kick to Dan and eats a code red for two. The ref finally takes control and this is actually a tag match. Kevin Ryan is taking all the heat from Ison and CMD, big kicks, headbutts and running knees. Suge with a hot shot to CMD, preventing a springboard and he throws him to the ringside chairs. Ryan with a modified gory special arm stretch but Dan pops out to headbutt Suge. Suge is mad and The Good Hand is working CMD over in the corner. Brain buster for two. Suge in to trade angry strikes and knees with CMD, snap suplex and an elbow. Suge DVD’s Ryan to Dan. Vader elbow and a Swanton combo and Kevin Ryan gets a two count. Dan wants Surf’s Up but Ryan shoves it off. Dan with a swinging neckbreaker off the top. Ison gets the tag! The Pitbull with a boot wash to Suge and throws Ryan into him for good measure. Muscle Buster to Ryan but Suge breaks it up. Suge must be using his bad hand because his chops are doing nothing. Dan assisted with the Surf’s Up with Suge and it’s almost over. Ison dumped outside and he hits hard. Dan isolated, Good Hand with the double stomp neckbreaker combo. Ison invited in to get this work. The Good Hand staggers him back to the rope with a flurry of strikes and kicks but they get too worked up in their own posing. Dan in to cut off Kevin Ryan but Ison accidentally backfists him. Suge launches himself at Ison and they roll outside. Kevin Ryan with a running dropkick to the back of the head of Cabana Man Dan and he picks up the pin for the Good Hand. Hell yeah.

Winners: The Good Hand

“WE. TOLD. YOU.” Screams Suge into the mic after their win. Ison isn’t done and both teams go back into the fight and battle into the back. Ison and Dan probably should have a conversation after that miscommunication but who is NEXT in the sights of the Good Hand? This was a great energetic brawl and Suge may not wait for ACTION’s next show to call their next shot.

Match 3: Adrian Alanis vs. Rob Killjoy vs. Graham Bell vs. Damyan Tangra vs. Liam Gray vs. Bobby Flaco vs. Jaden Newman

We have a couple of established tag teams in this scramble so how might this play out? Jaden Newman calls all of his opponents garbage. It’s only been a couple of months since he was banned from ACTION Wrestling but he reminded everyone why they all hated him. Newman is immediately ejected fro the ring by his opponents. Tangra and Killjoy have a great interaction before Killjoy is ejected. Alanis in to throw everyone around, Liam in to help but Graham Bell cleans house. Liam is last man standing for a moment which means that vulture Newman is in to capitalize. Rob Killjoy going toe to toe with Newman, big springboard dropkick and we get those Quack chants. Flaco in wild against Alanis and Newman, hitting a diving elbow to Alanis on the outside. We get a series of one-upping dives. Newman is left and goes for a dive but Bell brings in his BAZOOKA. It’s not loading but he cracks Newman in the face with it. Newman slammed to the outside. Bell with an old school style dive to the group and lands on his feet. Tangra back in the ring with Bell and Alanis, trying a double STF. Newman tries to break it up and TTangra also wraps up the ankle. Liam Gray off the top to break it up. Killjoy with running chops to everyone still in the ring. Serving up Germans but Liam kicks out. Killjoy with a rana to Liam off the top wipes out everyone. Killjoy and Tangra go back at it. Killjoy with a buckle bomb and a vertical neckbreaker....Killjoy’s partner Flaco doesn’t let the pin happen! Flaco with a poisonrana to Killjoy. Bell picks Flaco into an electric chair back cracker for two! Newman with a cravat neckbreaker and top rope meteora for two. The Skulk are working together! Alanis tries to let Liam get the pin on Newman. They try the kill shot on Tangra. Liam tries a swanton but Tangra uppercuts him out of the sky. Liam Gray spiked on his head and Tangra gets the pin in a WILD scramble.

Winner: Damyan Tangra

Match 4: Myron Reed vs. AC Mack

AC Mack does his entrance like only he can. He reminds everyone that the only reason these two promotions can co-exist right now if because of him...as he was their dual-champ for the longest time. Myron Reed doesn’t really care about any of that and is here for this main event level fight. Mack working the ankle early but Reed grabs for the ropes. Reed with a pin reversal for two and Mack starts to fire up with the high speed attacks, basement dropkick for two. Reed with a series of forearms and a big boot sends Mack to the outside.  Reed with a suicide dive to the stage. Reed with the hot shot and a cutter for two. Mack dodges a dropkick but Myron with a corkscrew stunner. Mack is mad and stomping around with lariats. Spinning DDT for two. Reed is taking off his combat vest to stand in the pocket and trade forearms. Reed with an enziguri, Mack responds with a leg lariat. Mack tries the Mack-10 but Reed is out, STO, up to the top. Mack with a kick to the chest off the top and powerbombs Reed to the mat for two. AC wants the Mack-10 again but Myron hits the corkscrew stunner again. Big flatliner, Reed with a cutter to the floor, 450 from the top and AC Mack kicks out!!! Reed tries a powerbomb but Mack flips it into the Mack-10. Reed driven to the mat and that’s all for him. Mack may cheat a lot but this reminded everyone that he is very resilient and scrappy as a wrestler. Great contest here.

Winner: AC Mack

Match 5: Logan Reed vs Alex Kane vs. 1 Called Manders vs Derek Neal

This was originally billed as a tag match but Creed recently beat Kane in ACTION and Neal has been a constant thorn in Manders side, preventing the cowboy from winning the SUP Bonestorm title. This immediately breaks into a brawl. Kane gives Creed a belly-to-belly to their opponents. Kane with a big side slam to Manders. Neal and Manders getting into their faces but Creed enters the fray and they have to work together for a moment. Manders and Neal clubbing out Kane so they can have the ring for their unfinished business. Aggressive lariats and chop trading. Neal and Manders fighting on the top but Creed in to pick them off there, Kane makes it a tower of doom and everyone is down in this hoss salad. Kane with a ripcord olympic slam to Neal. Creed with an up and over dive to Manders and Neal. Creed stalking Kane but eats a german. Kane hit with a shoulder tackle and a doctor bomb from Manders for two. Manders tries the big lariat, Neal pulls the foot. Kane with a X-Plex, Manders is out. Kane with a fisherman’s back suplex to Manders. This is a non-title affair for the ACTION champion. This matchup has been cancelled a few times in the past, “It’s about damn time!” Says Royal. Arik doesn’t want that lockup and takes a walk. Arik comes into the lockup, Makabe works towards the cattle mutilation early and Royal goes right for the rope. Makabe grinding out Arik with a headlock. Royal endures and tries to lock up Makabe with a head and arm lock. Big dropkick from the Acegawd. Royal with a double chicken wing and trying to give Makabe a taste of his own medicine. Makabe is throwing hands to the guts to stun the champ but Royal whips him into a high knee. Makabe and Royal lock into a tumbling rollup attempt. Royal breaks away and slams the genius down. Royal wants a powerbomb but Makabe keeps taking the knee. Royal gets him up but Makabe gets the rope. Makabe dodges and Royal eats buckle. Huge fist from Daniel. Arik fires one back and we’re double down. Makabe back with a corner dropkick and saito suplex. Royal stuns Makabe and hits a sitout powerbomb for two. Makabe pulling at the arm, big back elbow to the head and german. Makabe locks in the cattle mutilation! Royal gets his foot on the rope! Makabe fights a cover attempt for two. Makabe up to the top? He misses a knee drop with no pad! Royal in and shoulder checks Makabe out of the damn ring! Makabe makes the count, Royal goes for the Kobe, Makabe with a flying arm bar. Royal punches the injured knee, and springboards to the Kobe, smashing Makabe’s head to the mat for the three. Fantastic fight here. Loved this.

If you’ve seen Makowski lately, you’ll know how big of a win that was for Priest.

Winner: Adam Priest

Match 8: “Big Bad Kaiju” O’Shay Edwards vs. “That Dude” Jon Davis

Oh. Man. This is just going to be a FIGHT. Davis has been on a tear this week. Talking smack and Edwards with a popup powerbomb! Davis with a jackhammer! Davis throwing chops and kicks and O’Shay keeps telling him to bring it. Davis crumbles him with a European uppercut. Edwards firing up with strikes, Davis hits a trio of body slams. Yes, please.

Winner: O’Shay Edwards

Unsanctioned Match: Nolan Edward (w/ Hardway Heeter & Ron Bass Jr) vs. Angelus Layne

These two went to war in ACTION Wrestling previously and it was one of the most aggressive matches in that promotion’s history. Since then, Angelus has sided with Suge D’s Good Hand in their war with Edward’s KOBK friends which brings us to today. Nolan’s bringing in the deathmatch toys, filling the ring with doors, barbed wire boards, thumbtacks and chairs. OH S***. Lockup and they muscle each other into the tacks. They pick up where they left off in ACTION and start throwing heavy forearms in the pocket. Nolan with a backdrop to the tacks....but she serves up one of her own. Side Russian leg sweep and they are both screaming and covered in tacks. Battle to the outside, Layne eats the support beam but she chases him down to kick Nolan in the head. Security tries to stop them from battle too deep into the venue but they deck them down. Layne sabu’s him with a chair and bounces his face off the bar. Layne stretches him out on the bar and starts waterboarding him. JESUS. Layne comes off the bar and leaps into a flying chair. Layne is crumbled on the floor while Nolan fills the ring with plunder. Layne up for air and she’s bloody AF. Layne comes running, drop toe hold. Nolan grabs the legs and drags her face down through the tacks. FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUU—. Big suplex into the tacks. Two count! Nolan sets up a door on the bottom corner. Axe kick from Nolan. Nard kick from Layne. Step up curb stomp into the tack from Angelus! She suplexes Nolan through that door.  She sets up the barbed wire board on the chairs. Nolan with a low kick, he STOMPS THE HANDS INTO TACKS...noooooo. Angelus neckbreaker and blasts him with a door part. She wraps her knee in barbed wire. Angelus with a running knee to the temple and Nolan is out. Battle to the top. Nolan with a headbutt sends Layne crashing through the barbed wire board. Nolan falls into the pin and gets the three. HOLY F***. This was incredible and outdid just about ALL of the ultraviolence I’ve seen this week so far in terms of aggression and emotion. Angelus is furious at the loss but Nolan just meets her with a middle finger. This was a crazy war but Angelus doesn’t seem like the type who will stay down and let this go. Loved it.

Winner: Nolan Edward

Main Event: Violence is Forever (Kevin Ku & Dom Garrini) vs. FinJuice (David Finlay & Juice Robinson)

IWTV’s 2-time tag team of the year and SUP’s tag champs have a huge test in Impact’s tag champs FinJuice.  I sure hope they got all those tacks out of there. Dom takes arm control early on Finlay and he gets out of there. Ku and Juice get to work, Robinson gets in Dom’s face a little while he has the advantage. Ku battles battle and ViF with a stiff kick sandwich. Finlay back in but Dom drops him into the armbar, Finlay stacks it for a two. Juice and Ku add to the madness of chops and strikes. FinJuice with a tandem flapjack to Garrini. Springboard bulldog and Dom is down for the count. This was f***ing great.

Winners: FinJuice

This was an absolute pick’em war. Dom took that long heat but once these teams got going, it could have gone either way. Both teams show respect after the bell, no one was REALLY a loser here. Kudos to ACTION & SUP for putting this together. What a damn match. What a damn show. I HAD FUN and now I AM SAD...that it’s over. Awesome stuff here top to bottom. You can see ACTION and SUP regularly on IWTV. And you should. You absolutely should.
