WALTER JUST MAY BE PART OF THE TWO BEST MATCHES OF WRESTLEMANIA WEEK, THE TIME HAS COME AS WALTER DEFENDS THE TITLE AGAINST RAMPAGE BROWN, RAY/ DAWN VS. MCKENZIE/SATOMURA, BATE VS. DAR: ONGOING NXT UK: PRELUDE BLOG

By Dave Scherer on 2021-04-08 16:17:00

Welcome to my NXT UK: Prelude blog.  As I have said before, this show the match I am most looking forward to this weekend, WALTER defending the NXT UK Title against Rampage Brown.  After his performance against Tommaso Ciampa last night, WALTER set the bar really high.

We are opening with Tyler Bate vs. Noam Dar under Heritage Cup rules in a Number 1 contender’s match.  Bate is seconded by Trent Seven (who I really hope doesn’t turn on Tyler) and Dar has Sha Samuels in his corner.  Before the match, Heritage Cup holder A-Kid appeared on the Tron to say he is watching.

For those you new to the Cup, it’s contested under six 3 minute rounds.  The first wrestler to score two falls wins.  Bate just rolled up Dar pretty quickly and got fall one.

FYI, for those of you who couldn’t find the show on The Cock via Roku, I brought it up in Chrome on my Mac.  The Cock still has work to do!

We made it through Round 2 with no falls.  Onto Round 3.  Dar is acting cocky, Bate is being Bate.  By the way, Nigel McGuinness and Andy Shepherd are fantastic, they are my favorite announce team.  Bate is now selling his right knee.  He still managed to do an Airplane Spin for the last 30 seconds or so of the round.  He didn’t try to pin him though, which may have been a mistake since it gave Dar 20 seconds to recover.  Dar started Round 4 with his equilibrium off.  Bate put him in the Spin again and then nailed a big clothesline but only got a two.  So the story is that he probably wouldn’t have been able to get the pin had he tried it in Round 3.  Dar got a two after a sliding forearm.  We have half of Round 4 left.

Bate is selling the left leg, which is limiting what he can usually do.  Dar is targeting it, plus Bate’s face.  Dar had a chance to grab a pin before the end of the round but Bate fought him off.  This is really good.  Into Round 5 we go.

As the bell rings Bate is really selling the leg.  He was throwing hands while Dar went for the leg.  He grabbed the knee and Bate had to tap.  Next fall wins!

Round 6 is on.  Dar went for the leg but Bate hit a suplex for a two.  Dar got a two on a roll up.  Bate hit a flying kick and went to the top.  She distracted him so Trent stopped him.  He tossed Dar on the floor and then flew from the top onto She and Trent.  Dar threw him into the steps and thought he had him but Bate reversed, hit the Tyler Driver and got the pin.  That was fantastic!  Bate gets another shot at A-Kid’s Cup!

WALTER and Rampage have arrived.  I wonder if they will mention WALTER worked last night.

Mark Andrews and Flash Morgan Webster are back at training after their last loss.

They recapped Ilja Dragunov’s meltdown since losing to WALTER last fall.

Piper Niven is training Jack Starz to be a monster.  Is he ready?  He is.  He will show us next week.

Jordan Devlin told us after he wins on Takeover tonight, he will be back to the UK as THE Cruiserweight Champion.

Time for Meiko Satomura and Emilia McKenzie to take on Isla Dawn and the Champ, Kay Lee Ray.  I wasn’t a big fan of how they turned Ray last week.  I loved the way Ray was becoming a bad ass babyface.  Gonna go grab lunch, I will be back!

Like a bad check, I am back.  Lunch was outstanding, Taylor Pork Roll flown in from NJ.  I have the best wife ever.

This one was just kind of thrown together last week so it doesn’t have the oomph fact that the other bouts have.  This s about it being a showcase for McKenzie and she is looking good.

Satomura had Ray pinned, but saw Dawn coming in so she got up to stop her.  Ray hit the Gory Bomb but McKenzie made the save.

The finish came after McKenzie took Ray out on the floor, then went in and pinned Dawn.  Like I said, this was all about setting McKenzie up in the division, and that’s what they did.

After the match, Eve Valkyrie came out on the stage and laid a feather down in the face of the babyfaces as she eyed up Meiko.

A-Kid is psyched to take on Tyler Bate.  I am psyched to watch it.

Amir Jordan is mad.  He is searching for Kenny Williams after what he did last week.  He finds Sid, who says the two will meet next week.  Kenny is fine with that.  He did all the work and carried him.  Next week he will show the world how good he is.

The Gallus Boys will be on the Super Nova Sessions.  Dar better not be his usual smart ass self with them.  That won’t go well.

After a cool recap of what got us here, WALTER will now defend his NXT UK Title against Rampage Brown.  Happy Me!

Great face off to start.  And here we go.  Since this was taped, Walter’s chest isn’t bright red like it was last night.  I wonder if they will say he flew in after the match yesterday or just ignore it.

Brown is on fire early, working over the champ but the big man turned the tide on the floor and nailed a big chop.  He is not selling the hand so it appears we won’t reference yesterday at all.  So if he loses, it’s the “it isn’t official until it airs” philosophy.

They are now just pounding the snot out of each other.  It’s the early part that will intensify as it gets to the end.

WALTER went for a powerbomb but Brown got out and plastered the champ with a clothesline, then another.  Flying body attack off of the ropes, but WALTER kicked out at 1.  This is really good.

WALTER destroyed Brown with a chop and stuff powerbomb but he kicked out at 2.

WALTER went to the second rope but Brown caught him with chops and then did a big avalanche power slam off of the top, two count only!  These are big men doing big damage!

Brown ran into a sleeper but WALTER got out with a suplex and then hit a Doctor Bomb, but WALTER rolled to the ropes.  Brown tried to drag WALTER in and when he did, he threw forearms to the head.  Brown’s chest is bright red from the chops.  Walter’s is pretty red too.  WALTER with a chop to the throat, knee to the body and a lariat.  Brown got up and took some more abuse but he managed to kick out at two!  Nigel just said it harkens back to Misawa-Kobashi.  It’s a good comparison given how physical it is.

WALTER hit a suplex and powerbomb but Brown kicked out.  WALTER went to the top and did a splash, 1-2-3.  WALTER  is still your NXT UK Champion.  It was yet another amazing match from WALTER.  I will take WALTER as the best male wrestler in the business and give you everyone else, and I will win.  He is the most credible champion out there and whoever beats him will get a huge rub.  And when we talk about the two best matches of WrestleMania week, he very well may be in both of them.

Thanks for reading, I will be back tonight with Part Two of NXT Takeover Stand and Deliver.
