(SPOILER) ANOTHER BIG NAME HEADING TO GREATEST ROYAL RUMBLE

By Mike Johnson on 2018-04-12 13:08:00

After making a return to the ring in the 2018 Royal Rumble and being backstage at Wrestlemania 34, former WWE champion Rey Mysterio is heading to Saudi Arabia for the Greatest Royal Rumble on 4/27, PWInsider.com has confirmed.

Mysterio has been on WWE's radar since his surprise return at the Royal Rumble in Philadelphia in January, easily receiving the biggest reaction of anything on the show up until that point.

That appearance opened WWE up to the potential of signing a new deal with Mysterio, where before, previous talks had stalemated over WWE management wanting a full-time return.  Mysterio, at 43-years old and with an untold number of knee surgeries behind him, has been looking for a part-time schedule.

Mysterio and WWE have been in discussions in recent weeks, but there's been no confirmation as of yet as to the two sides coming to terms.  All that can be confirmed as of this writing is that Mysterio has agreed to the 4/27 event, which will air live on the WWE Network.
