PAUL HEYMAN TALKS ECW, VINCE MCMAHON IN ADVANCE OF ONE MAN SHOW TONIGHT IN NOLA

By Mike Johnson on 2018-04-05 10:22:00

Paul Heyman was interviewed by NOLA.com, discussing his special event at the Joy Theater in New Orleans tonight at 9 PM, promoted by Inside the Ropes, where Heyman will be telling stories and answering fan questions.  There will also be a pre-show meet and greet where fans can meet the WWE star.  This will be the first time Heyman has done such an event in the United States.

On his relationship with Vince McMahon, Heyman said it was, "Strictly platonic (laughs). It's an honest answer (laughs). ... I think Vince McMahon has begrudgingly accepted the fact that I am the greatest advocate in the history of this industry. And I have begrudgingly accepted his acceptance of that fact."

Heyman was also asked about Extreme Championship Wrestling, specifically which talent leaving hurt him the most personally.  Heyman candidly commented, "All of them. Because I had an artistic relationship with everyone who worked on that roster. We had a bond with each other, all of us together as one. We truly had a family atmosphere. We had each other's backs. It was the most close knit team you will ever find in this industry or in any sport. So every defection hurt because we were losing a member of our family."

On tonight's event, Heyman noted, ""It's a wild crowd that comes in for WrestleMania.  And I would suggest that people who are coming to see the Paul Heyman show will be even wilder than the typically wild crowd that shows up at WrestleMania week. I'm bringing in a whole film crew from my agency in New York to shoot this because I have a feeling we will be going into some real uncharted territory on this one. Who knows what's going to happen."
