PAIGE DISCUSSES WWE WELLNESS SUSPENSION ON GARCIA PODCAST, ADMITS FAILURE FOR ILLEGAL DRUGS

By Mike Johnson on 2017-12-11 08:24:00

WWE star Paige appears on the latest Lilian Garcia podcast this morning and admitted that her second WWE Wellness Policy failure in October 2016 was due to illegal drugs.

At the time, Paige went on Twitter citing that she had a doctor's note and that WWE was ignoring it, writing, "Same sh** different day. Kids..Please don't get prescriptions or doctors notes. Not acceptable."  After Paige made her original statement in October 2016, her family followed up with additional statements that her suspension were due to painkillers she was prescribed for a neck injury, one that Paige later underwent surgery for.  Comments made by Paige's family also included accusations that Paige was not being treated properly for her medical issues, leading to her "going private" and receiving the painkiller prescriptions.

On the podcast, Garcia read Paige her Tweet about the painkillers and doctor's note.  Paige admitted that after being suspended, she didn't know what to do and never expected that the company would then issue a statement in response (to the New York Post) that she had actually failed for an illegal substance, telling the periodical, "Saraya-Jade Bevis tested positive for an illegal substance, not a prescription drug.  In addition, WWE is providing world-class medical care for her in-ring injury.”

Paige said she reacted the way she did because she was seen as a role model and didn't want to be seen as the drug using party girl.

Her boyfriend at the time, Alberto el Patron referred to the suspension as "complete BS" while appearing on The Taz Show and claimed they were working on fixing it.   Paige also acknowledged the end of her relationship with el Patron on the Garcia podcast today., citing that their careers were going in different directions and that put them in different cities   She did not discuss the Orlando airport incident.  She stated that she hoped the best for him and that he finds someone, saying she needed to focus on fixing herself and he wanted to focus on his family.

Paige also recounted her horror over personal videos of her leaking online, noting that just "last week", she was in a bar and someone came up to her and said, "You're that porn girl."  She said the situation made her so sick, her hair was falling out and that she collapsed while in England due to what she described as stress-induced anorexia.  She said that she felt terrible for Xavier Woods, who she described as a friend, over the situation.

Paige said that WWE's Mark Carano was in touch with her every day and that she met with Vince and Stephanie McMahon upon her return to the company and was told they were happy she was home. She noted she has been seeing a therapist that Rosa Mendes suggested to her and has been working on fixing things in her life.
