NEW JAPAN LOOKING TO RUN IN UNITED STATES NEXT YEAR, POTENTIAL FIRST EVENTS

By Mike Johnson on 2016-12-13 17:32:00

A blog posting by Takaaki Kidani, President of New Japan Pro Wrestling parent company BushiiRoad noted that the company is looking into running tours in the United States alone in 2017, the first time that New Japan is seeking to run here without a promotional partner.   The blog has gotten a lot of people talking over the last 24 hours.

In asking around, I am told that the company is looking to potentially run several dates of the 2017 G1 Climax tournament in the United States, but nothing has been set in stone as of this writing.

Over the last few years, New Japan has done an annual tour of the United States in conjunction with Ring of Honor and once did a three day tour of the Northeast in association with Jersey All Pro Wrestling.
