ANGLE VS. COFFEY, FINN BALOR GETS INVOLVED IN BATTLE FOR ICW AND MORE: COMPLETE INSANE CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING FEAR & LOATHING IX COVERAGE

By Jonathan Armak on 2016-11-20 18:03:00

Lew Girvan vs. Ricochet is up next.

This is going to be insane. Ricochet was well received at The Garage last night.

We are off, and Ricochet has already pushed Girvan to the outside. He hits a HUGE splash to the outside immediately. Ricochet with a 450 off the middle rope and a cover 1-2-NO! Oh man this is going to be crazy. Girvan works Ricochet to the outside. Dropkick to the barrier. Girvan to the top rope, and hits a knee to the outside across the neck of Ricochet. My stream is conveniently lagging at every big spot. Girvan to the top rope, and hits a double knee drop into a cover .1-2-NO!Girvan working Ricochet into a submission slowing down the pace. Ricochet works out and a European uppercut, a chop, and there into the ropes, and he hits a cutter on Girvan.

As he goes for another move Girvan gets Ricochet into an armbar. Ricochet picks him up into a deadlift power bomb, but Girvan gets the armbar back. Another pickup powerbomb, and they're back and forth with superkicks, shots, and Ricochet wins the exchange with a clothesline. This one is hard to follow on a typing end! Both men on their knees and back and forth and it is shot for shot, Ricochet works Girvan to the corner, whips him to the other side...619!

Ricochet works Girvan down and the crowd is applauding. Bridge Suplex to Girvan 1-2-NO! Back and forth and Girvan with a suplex 1-2-NO! I'm lagging bad I missed a few exchanges. Lew Girvan with a crossface but Ricochet picks him up, goes for a GTS, but Girvan has the crossface back in place. Ricochet working his way to the rope, Kirkwood mentions he's close but doesn't realize how close he is. Rope break.

Girvan was keeping control but gets caught with 2 kicks and a GTS. 1-2-NO! Amazing display. This is Awesome chant agrees with me. Ricochet goes for the 630 but misses. Girvan with a big DDT 1-2-NO, but rolls through into another crossface.

RICOCHET TAPS! GIRVAN WINS!

Winner: Ricochet.

I tried my best, but despite lags we got through it. AWESOME match, Ricochet continues to impress internationally penciling in another match people will be talking about in another country and company. That man has had an unbelievable year. Girvan shakes his hand and hugs him on the ramp, Ricochet backs up and lets Girvan soak it in. Long year for Lewis Girvan who was used by The Black label, to beating Ricochet at The Hydro. Big year ahead.

We are ready for the ICW World Heavyweight Championship match!

Wolfgang defends against Trent Seven!

We get a buildup video.

No time limits, no stoppage over blood loss, no DQ

Steel Cage is being lowered.

ICW World Heavyweight Championship

Trent Seven is out first and the announcers are talking about his 18 month journey. I'll admit I didn't think 6 months ago that this world be the title match for the Hydro but damn am I excited for this one. They call Trent Seven the People's Champ. Wolfgang is coming out on a motorcycle, with other cycles behind him BIG entrance for the champion who has and ICW CHAMP license plate. Big Fight Feel.

Trent Seven does a dive to the outside he's not waiting for the match to get underway. Trent gets a table and is setting it up. Wolfgang fights back and throws his head into the table. Wolfgang set up for a powerbomb but Seven gets out and slings him into the cage. Trent under the ring and pulls out another table!! Big chops to Wolfgang, but Wolfgang with one of his own and Trent backs up.

He throws him into the barricade. Kirkwood says shreds of flesh off his chest and I agree that was a brutal chop. Wolfgang is climbing into the ring. He throws up the W. Trent working his way up. (TNA Joke:It's a backwards cage match!!!!) Okay...anyways...They are fighting on the rope in the ring, and Wolfgang is down! Seven gets in the ring and the bell has finally rang!

ICW World Heavyweight Championship Steel Cage Match: Wolfgang vs. Trent Seven

Back and forth both men get 2 suplexes a piece. They are in the middle and a back and forth of shots. Seven got the better of it and runs into the ropes, Wolfgang picks him up and hits a big slam from AA position. Both men working out of the corners, and Wolfgang with a BIG pop up powerbomb. First cover 1-2-NO!! Seven is still in this.

Wolfgang reaching into his knee pad for the patented brass knuckles. Trent attacks and Wolfgang drops the knuckles, Trent Seven picks up the knuckles, and gets them on, but Wolfgang runs over and goes for another slam, but Seven hits him with the knuckles into a piledriver!!! 1-2-NO!

Kirkwood says every gentleman has his day, and calls it poetic justice. Remember Wolfgang beat Joe Coffey because of the Square Go briefcase AND the knuckles. Trent Seven whips Wolfgang into the cage. Trent is climbing the cage Kirkwood says it might be a mistake he should have maybe considered a cover. Wolfgang is working his way up and gets the leg of Seven.

Kirkwood is mentioning Wolfgang has more steel cage experience, and it shows with a BIG superplex off the top of the cage! Wolfgang with a cover 1-NO! ONLY A ONE COUNT! Wolfgang looks like a man obsessed, and smiles and nods showing his confidence hasn't worn. Wolfgang picks up Trent and runds Trent into the cage and hits a British Bulldog style powerslam.

Wolfgang is climbing the cage (Kirkwood:"The last King of Scotland towering the highest point in his Kingdom"....BADASS line not exact quote but still awesome). Both men are on top of the cage, Kirkwood reminds us of last year at the SECC.

Trent Seven hits Wolfgang with the brass knuckles and Wolfgang falls nearly 20 Feet through the two tables, and retains the championship!!!!

Winner and STILL ICW World Heavyweight Champion Wolfgang!

Wow....Wow. That was an INSANE finish (if this company WASN'T named Insane Championship wrestling I'd still use the word insane). Let me tell you that was a battle, and what a story, Trent Seven comes this close, and Wolfgang gets lucky while also getting a taste of his own medicine. That was awesome.

Kirkwood: "The house hasn't been knocked down Mr. Grange it's barely wobbling."

Wolfgang is not human, I agree Billy. Trent Seven is soaking in the disappointment but the fans are showing love singing the Trent Seven Army anthem. He looks absolutely devastated, but Trent Seven gives a bow to the fans. Trent, you really delivered with so much pressure on you and you should be VERY proud of that performance. I'm the *sshole that said I couldn't have predicted this would be the title match, and they made me feel like a jerk for that and that in itself is the definition of proving people wrong, although I was VERY excited when it was announced.
