EVEN MORE GREAT NEWS FOR WWE REGARDING LAST NIGHT'S RAW AUDIENCE

By Mike Johnson on 2016-01-26 16:12:02
As Dave Scherer wrote, the 1/25 edition of Raw, empowered by curiosity over the Royal Rumble finish and the surprise appearance of The Rock in his hometown of Miami, brought in 4,098,000 viewers, which was way up from last week's 3,496,000 viewers.

It was great news all around for WWE as that was the highest audience for Raw since June 2015, an episode that featured Brock Lesnar's first appearance after Wrestlemania 31.

Last night's Raw opened strong in hour one with 4,140,000 viewers.  Hour number two, with The Rock, jumped to  4,183,000 viewers.  The third hour dropped to 3,972,000 but even that third hour was stronger than 99% of the viewership for the show in some time. The last time a Raw hour broke the four million mark before last night was the 8 PM hour of the 12/14/15 episode where Roman Reigns won the WWE World Heavyweight championship from Sheamus.

Raw's 9 PM hour was also the most watched hour on cable TV last night,  The 8 PM hour was second.  VH-1's Love and Hip Hop was third.  Raw's 8 PM hour was fourth.

Overall, WWE has to be really happy and hoping they can keep that viewership bump up for Smackdown this Thursday.
