CARD SUBJECT TO CHANGE: Barry Windham was originally scheduled to compete as a member of the King’s Court, but was replaced on the team by Earthquake. Bobby "The Brain" Heenan replaced Tully Blanchard on the Heenan Family team. The WWF announced that Blanchard had been fired earlier in the day for failing a drug test, so Heenan was forced to replace him on the team on short notice. In reality, Blanchard had been let go weeks earlier, though for the same reason. Akeem was originally scheduled to compete as a member of the Enforcers, but was replaced on the team by Bad News Brown.

NOTES: Gorilla Monsoon & Jesse "The Body" Ventura did commentary for the event. "Mean" Gene Okerlund & Sean Mooney handled interviews. Howard Finkel was the ring announcer....This was the first Survivor Series to feature four man teams. The previous two events had featured either five man teams or five tag team teams. This was also the first Survivor Series to use team names.

Buck Woodward: I remember being sort of bummed that the "let's crowd the ring" tag team match wasn't included for this one. ... Not being "inside" at all, I couldn't figure out why Tully Blanchard wasn't around for his match. ... It was wild to see someone other than Hogan in a main event spot. It pretty much told us all that Warrior was getting the rocket strapped to him. ... The promos for the matches were a bit ridiculous, especially Hacksaw's team all carrying 2x4's, and Bret Hart pretending his was a machine gun.

Mike Johnson: Wow, I really don’t miss watching Zeus....I can remember being upset that Tully Blanchard wasn’t on the show as advertised and thinking Bobby Heenan really did a great job in the main event....They were teasing a Rick Rude-Heenan split as Heenan didn’t come out for Rude’s match....Wow, does Bret Hart stand out on the list of his team or what?....I was very disappointed that they cut the tag team bouts down to four members each
