COMPLETE DGUSA FOURTH ANNIVERSARY SHOW COVERAGE FROM NYC

By Mike Johnson on 2013-07-28 15:15:00

Welcome to PWInsider.com's live, ongoing coverage of DGUSA's Fourth Anniversary show at the Highline Ballroom.  Due to the lack of space, this won't be as detailed as usual.  Sorry folks!

Drew Gulak vs. Jon Davis

Davis used his power early to keep Gulak off guard.  Gulak fought back and went for a flying body;ress but was caught and powerbombed twice, then nailed with a lariat.

Your winner, Jon Davis!

A good opening bout.

Shane Strickland vs. Caleb Konley

This was supposed to be a three-way but Scott Reed canceled his booking the day of the show and has been dropped from the roster.  DGUSA wasn't happy with the late notice since if they were aware he couldn't work today, they would have changed their plans to accomodate him.

Konley worked him over with a side headlock early.  Strickland shoulderblocked him down and used a headstand takeover.  They went back and forth and faced off.  Strickland nailed a dropkick and a nice leaping forearm.  He was caught with a spike DDT.

Konley nailed a springboard moonsault.  He took control but Larry Dallas and Trina Michaels came out on the stage.  He tried to tell Konley that he wanted him back but was blown off.  The distraction allowed Strickland to roll him up for the pin.

Your winnerm Shane Strickland!

OK match.  It never got out of first gear.

Tony Nese vs. Uhaa Nation

Nese had his secretary Su Young and the mysterious Mr. A with him.  They went back and forth.  Nese missed a springboard moonsault.  Nation pressed and tossed him out of the ring onto the stage.

The battled to the outside.  Nese escaped a powerbomb attempt on the apron, cartwheeled off to the floor and nailed a superkick.  He then hit his backwards dive over the top to the floor.

Back in the ring, Uhaa nailed a series of German suplexes.  Nation nailed a big splash off the top for a two count.  Nation turned Nese inside out with a clothesline.  Nation went for a standing moonsault but Nese rolled out of the way.  Nese went to the top for a bodypress but was caught.  He maneuvered out of it and rolled him up for a two count.  Nese went for a powerbomb but Nation turned it into an armbar.   Nese made it to the ropes.

Nese came back with a ton of hot offense and scored the pin with a 450 splash.

Your winner, Tony Nese!

Easily the best thing so far on the show.  Really good.

CHIKARA Tribute Chuck Taylor & Ophidian & Chuck Taylor vs. Jigsaw & Fire Ant & Jigsaw & Amasis

They announced Ophidian has been traded to the tecnicos in exchange for Jigsaw.

They did all the CHIKARA antics you would expect - multi-man submissions, fun reversals and dives.

In the end, Taylor's team got the win.  Really good stuff.
