FULL GREAT AMERICAN BASH REPORT

By Buck Woodward on 2004-06-28 02:00:00

The Great American Bash opened with a video hyping the top three matches on the show (Bullrope, Four Way and Concrete Crypt).

Torrie Wilson, in her Uncle Sam getup, then welcomed us to the Great American Bash.

Fatal Four Way Elimination Match - U.S. Champion John Cena vs. Booker T vs. Rene Dupree vs. Rob Van Dam.

Cena did a rap after his entrance, ripping on Kurt Angle and his opponents. Cena mentioned that RVD "rollls blunts", that Booker used to be GI Bro, and that Dupree gets excited by being surrounded by "seamen" (because the Navy was present).

The match started with Van Dam brawling with Booker in one corner, while Cena fought Dupree in the other. Cena and RVD then exchanged punches in center ring, until Dupree and Booker recovered and got back in the mix. Van Dam tossed Booker to the floor and rammed him into the security wall,  but Booker came back by ramming RVD into the ring apron and the steel steps.  In the ring, Dupree suplexed Cena for two, and hit a kneed to the midsection, followed by a dropkick to the back of the head.  Booker rammed RVD into the steps again, and watched Dupree battle Cena, since it was an elimination match and he didn't need to break up covers.  Cena hit an atomic drop on Dupree, but Dupree dodged a charge and Cena fell to the floor.  Booker tossed RVD into the ring, and Dupree went after him. Dupree hit a reverse rolling neck snap on RVD for a two count. Booker continued to watch from ringside, while Dupree put Van Dam in a chinlock. Dupree missed a charge in the corner, and Van Dam hit a kick to the head.  Van Dam had to double pump on the ropes when he slipped, but still hit the split leg moonsault for two. Van Dam hit the Rolling Thunder splash for two. Cena was now watching from the floor as well. Van Dam catapulted Dupree over the top rope to the floor. Cena went to pick up Dupree, but RVD hit a slingshot somersault on both men.  RVD tossed Cena in and got a two count. RVD grabbed a rolling cradle and small package for two counts. RVD slid out of the ring on a Cena whip and tossed Booker T into the ring. Cena hit Booker with a back elbow for a two count, then slammed him for another two. Cena rolled out of the ring, and tossed Dupree in. Dupree reversed a whip and hit Booker with a powerslam for two.  Dupree did his dance, and Booker grabbed him in a spinebuster, then collapsed to the mat.  Booker and Dupree were both down on the mat, and RVD hit Dupree with the Five Star Frog Splash.  Cena went to the top rope, but RVD kicked him off. RVD hit Booker with the Five Star Frog Splash, but Cena ran in and cradled RVD for the pin at the eight minute mark. Rob Van Dam is eliminated.

Booker T rammed John Cena into the ringpost on the floor, then tossed him into the ring.  Booker and Dupree stomped Cena in a corner, and Booker hit a suplex followed by a Dupree fistdrop. Booker hit a kneedrop, and Dupree hit another fistdrop. Booker hit a kick, and Dupree went to cover Cena, and the two started arguing, with Booker saying it was "his cover".  Dupree rolled up Booker for two, and the two started shoving each other.  This enabled Cena to rally, hitting clotheslines on both men and the Throwback on Booker.  Cena went to give Dupree the FU, but he grabbed the ropes. Booker kicked his hand away, and Cena hit the FU on Dupree. Booker hit an ax kick on Cena, then covered Dupree for the pin at the eleven minute mark.  Rene Dupree is eliminated.

Booker covered Cena for two, and hit a side slam for another two. Booker hit a back elbow for two, then applied a rear chinlock. Cena fought out, and Booker hit a back kick for two.  Booker applied a cobra clutch, but Cena fought out and hit a clothesline, back elbow and side slam. Cena hit the Five Knuckle Shuffle fistdrop, then pumped his sneakers.  Booker kicked him and hit a sunset flip out of the corner for two.  Booker hit a superkick, then measured for the ax kick. Cena ducked the kick and hit the FU for the pin at the 16 minute mark.

Winner and still U.S. Champion: John Cena.
