NEW DETAILS LEADING TO BENOIT TRAGEDY REVEALED, BENOIT'S ACTIONS AFTER DEATHS OF WIFE AND SON THEORIZED

By Mike Johnson on 2008-02-14 12:40:00

The Fayetteville Daily News featured several articles relating to the Chris Benoit tragedy in the last several days.

An article published today pondered whether Nancy or Daniel Benoit tried to call for help as phone records saw a call to 411 information looking for the number of a police station in the area.  “I can only assume it was Nancy Benoit who called 411, but I’m confused as to why the call was made to 411 and not 911,” said Scott Ballard, Fayette County District Attorney.

In the article, it was noted that calls were also made to Benoit family neighbor Holly Schrepfer, who did not answer the calls.  Schrepfer was quoted in the local investigators' report as  describing "how Nancy Benoit began abusing alcohol and prescription medication to help cope with her relationship with Chris and the demands of his career.”

Another friend, Pam Clark in Tenneseee, was quoted in the report, claiming that Nancy believed Benoit was having a relationship with "one of the WWE Divas" and that Nancy, "did not feel like she knew Chris anymore... and that he had been acting strange lately and his mood swings had gotten to the point that he would pick fights with her over nothing.”

Another article focused on whether Benoit, after committing the acts, had turned to religion, based on the placement of bibles near the bodies of Daniel and Nancy Benoit.  To read that article, click here.
