JAPAN NOTES

As I reported exclusively in my Elite Hotline on Friday, Dreamstage Entertainment is now a partner in ZERO-ONE and is going to be going after those who bootleg ZERO-ONE and All Japan Pro Wrestling material in the United States. There are going to be a lot of tape dealers contacted within the next few weeks. Given how strongly they have protected the PRIDE tapes, I would assume they will be as aggressive for the other properties. I have a lot more on this story, including who owns the rights to the material in the United States now as well as much more exclusive notes on WWE, NWA: TNA, and more in my weekly Elite hotline. You can listen to it, and enjoy all of our other great Elite features, for three days totally free right now. To find out how, click this link: www.pwinsider.com/elitenav.asp.

CZW Junior Heavyweight champion Sonjay Dutt debuts for ZERO-ONE on 4/25 in Fukuoka, Japan teaming with Takiawa against Low Ki & Leonardo Spanky.

New Japan Pro Wrestling's Inoki Dojo in Los Angeles will be holding a one night "Best of American Super Junior" tournament at the Dojo on 4/16. The tournament finalists will be getting spots in the annual New Japan round robin Best of Super Junior tournament in Japan. Scheduled for the first round of the tournament are American Dragon vs. Chad Collyer, Shawn Waltman vs. Bobby Quance, Ice Man vs. Rocky Romero, and Ricky Reyes vs. Teddy Hart. Hart has been telling a number of promoters he is heading to Japan, but with Hart's track record that doesn't mean much. In non-tournament bouts, Tommy Williams & Jose Moreno will face Eric Matlock & Joey Ryan and ROH champion Samoa Joe will face Aaron Aguilera. Antonio Inoki will be in attendance at the show.

K-1 signed Nathan Jones, The Predator, and Tom Howard to deals, so they are done with ZERO-ONE. I wouldn't be shocked to see them pop up in New Japan Pro Wrestling as they are politically affiliated with K-1. ZERO-ONE dropped using the three due to their own political connection with K-1 business rival Dreamstage.
