BEST WISHES TO THE LEGENDARY BILL MERCER, EUGENE UPDATE AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2022-01-08 11:30:00

The legendary Bill Mercer, who was the voice of World Class Championship Wrestling, 95 years young, tested positive for COVID-19 despite being vaccinated and receiving a booster shot.   Thanks to being vaccinated, Mercer has described it as like dealing with a bad cold, so he only had mild symptoms.  Mercer, who had an amazing broadcast career beyond wrestling, was voice of the Dallas Cowboys, Chicago White Sox, Texas Rangers, University of North Texas Eagles, and the Cotton Bowl over different points of his career.  Mercer also reported on, and was a witness to, the JFK Assassination in Dallas, reporting for CBS affiliate KRLD channel 4 at the time, was the first person to tell Lee Harvey Oswald he had been charged with the murder of the President.  He is also one of the nicest people I have ever had the blessing of interviewing.  Everyone at PWInsider.com sends our best to Mercer and his family and hope for a full recovery.

Former WWE star Nick "Eugene" Dinsmore is currently working on completing a book on his life and pro wrestling career.  Dinsmore recently sold Midwest All Pro Wrestling, the promotion he founded six years ago out of  Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Dave "Gangrel" Heath is getting married next month.  Our congratulations to Heath and his lovely bride.

Luke Hawx announced he was moving to Australia for a new TV series opportunity.
