AEW PRESIDENT TONY KHAN DISCUSSES WHAT CM PUNK HAS BROUGHT TO AEW ALREADY, PUNK VS. SYDAL ON RAMPAGE TOMORROW, RUBY SOHO, MMA STARS VS. THE INNER CIRCLE, BRYAN VS. SUZUKI, BOBBY FISH & MORE

Daniel Bryan vs. Minoru Suzuki on The Rampage The Buy-In:

"Well, first of all, Suzuki's in America, which is a big constraint because there's many months of the year where he's not available and he was available for the booking. He wanted the match. Danielson really wanted the match.  Both Danielson and Bobby Fish, we're going to get a preview of them in a major way ahead of, they have a huge match on TV on Saturday night Dynamite, Danielson versus Fish.  Ahead of that, they're both going to get big tests. I think we can talk about Bobby Fish versus Lee Moriarty in a minute, but it is important to talk about Suzuki versus Danielson. It's gotten a ton of online buzz and I think it's targeted specifically, again, at the aforementioned audience I talked about. I mentioned Punk versus Sydal.  I think a lot of fans have followed their careers for a long time and they followed different paths to get here.

Again, Danielson and Suzuki, they've had these amazing wrestling careers, and they're both still two of the most dangerous men.   Bryan Danielson's come in as a top star in a AEW and I thought with Suzuki available and the relationship we have and working with New Japan, we were able to put this match together. And it's a dream match for the hardcore fans.  I think it's the right audience for the match with the Buy-In and there'll be no constraints of live television as far as timing or cues or any of that. They will have some time to let this breathe and it's a great match to draw in and make, I think, that feel that we're building for Rampage, which is with this stacked card.

So I think Danielson versus Suzuki gives more of a pay-per-view weekend feel to this big weekend on TNT because you don't have to pay a dime. You get three hours of great wrestling on TNT this weekend live from Miami. We're going to have some great matches on Rampage Friday night and Dynamite Saturday night. If you have TNT, you don't have to pay for it, which is a great followup, in my opinion, to the shows we've been doing.   If we can't have Wednesday night Dynamite, I wish we were doing Wednesday night Dynamite tonight, but since we have to time shift for these two weeks, I think it's a cool way to make the best of it and build these weekends.   So that's why I wanted to start it off with something memorable for the first time we've had this three hours of weekend wrestling on TNT."

Bobby Fish vs. Lee Moriarty:

"I think Lee is looking to pull off an upset because Bobby Fish has got already a big match contracted with Bryan Danielson, but I think it's a great match for Lee and a great chance to showcase how exciting of a wrestler Lee is, and really again, a great scientific wrestling match and I think it's a theme of the weekend. We're going to have some great scientific wrestling. It's very catered to, frankly, the kind of fans that would listen to this audio show, I think, but there's also stuff that I believe that the casual fan will click, that the people will want to see and there are big stars on Rampage Friday night and Dynamite Saturday night and big matches and we have to really push hard. There's a ton of competition, both other wrestling competition and big sports competition this time of the year, because it's a really busy time in the sports calendar. So it's a great reason to put some great wrestling matches on this weekend, Friday and Saturday, on TNT.

Bobby Fish's Debut:

"Bobby Fish had a great debut I thought against Sammy Guevara.   To come in in the TNT open challenge, we've seen other people, great wrestlers and great stars in AEW like Ricky Starks and Eddie Kingston specifically, come in for the open challenge in the past. And they stuck and really became, again, just big stars here. And I think Bobby Fish has a chance to do the same thing and he's got maybe even more, I think, TV wrestling experience, really definitely more TV wrestling experience than either of them had when they came in. He's probably had more television exposure, Bobby Fish, than Ricky or Eddie had when they came in. So he can potentially use that to his benefit and win some matches and really build a following for us. So it's a big weekend for him too."
